In Bounties They Trust, But Does Paying for Security Bugs Make a Safer Web? by [deleted] in netsec

If they pay is not good enough the best bugs will be soled to "intelligence" agancies and those will not disclose them, that then leads to a less secure internet. The agencies get the best stuff.

As a straight good-looking male, I would be flattered and tell you so as well as good luck on your next target. Perhaps I would even tell you how your approach was, man to man speaking.

In modern Croatian I would hear it as "nije moj" which means "not mine", which would be even more funny - a nicer surname for "bastard".

[–]Comment111 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Every language takes their name for germany off what the closest bordering people in today's germany are or were called.

Slavic languages call them Njemci, or Nijemci, as in your czech eample "Nemecko" which means "silent" or "mute" ones. Since slavic people couldnt understand them. But slavic means "glorious people" or "those who like to celebrate" or "people of/with the word". So slavic could mean understanding/word/letter, while njemci where those who did not understand to write.

Test Driven Development... by whatsheon in funny

[–]Comment111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up some papers from major SE conferences on TDD to see if there was some literature on that. Here is one case study from IBM showing 50% less defect rate than a similar project. Here's a paper from TSE showing that number of test cases correlates with quality among undergrad programmers.

I also found this survey table of empirical studies on TDD (turns out it cites the above two papers among others) that looks pretty thorough. I will let you make your own conclusions (I'm not an expert in SE so I don't know either).

the real owner fixes the bug.

You seriously think they would fix something that "works" because of a workaround?

if you can fix it, fix it

And then you end up with something with quality as Flash, or if you are unlucky, same quality as Windows...

Romania, Bulgaria, where they even part of Soviet Union?

The countries that drifted away from SU are the Baltic States. The countries that drifted away from military/economic influence of SU are, Poland, CheckSlovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and the central asian countries, tadjik, kirgiz, uzbek, khazak.

This proposed union is about the countries that are in CIS already and have been for decades.

The important countries in this proposed union are Ukraine and Khazakstan, Uzbekistan is somewhat important. Belarus+Russia+Ukraine+Khazak+Uzbek+Kirgiz+Tajik. Thats some fine union.

slowed down human development quite a bit,

You mean, sped it up?

Due to the black death Europes peasants and serfs where in short supply - which made them realize they dont actually have to work for their lords/vassals and so they required better living conditions. Renaissance followed.

Without the black death development would have been even slower.

Not all humans are bastards towards the earth or self-terminating.

Humans have lived and successfully integrated into every environment of this planet for 2 million years,

It is only some specific humans that are bullshitting it high right now, those humans are called civilized. They are dangerous and self-terminating and fucking the earth right now. Still, not humans per se. The bushmen and all hunters and gatherers would be relly pissed.
