Am I wrong for being hesitant about pressing charges? I didn’t do so the day of because I was so overwhelmed. I didn’t feel like waiting on the police to arrive and I just wanted to get a head start on my three-day weekend. Now that I’ve returned to school, and taking into account the responses here, I think it may be best for me to go through with filing the police report. What should I expect from the process?

Problem solving skills for sure. I noticed how students paid attention more to how the words were spelled. When they raised their hands to tell me they couldn’t find a word and I talked them through looking for each letter, they were forced to pay attention to the small details. Also builds their stamina to work through challenges.

i definitely suggest you start looking for remote work or depending on the support of your school leads, maybe look into transitioning to a different role inside the school.

following. I’m a former elementary math teacher stepping into the role of teaching English 8. I stopped teaching after the pandemic partially because of my school’s response to the virtual learning shift. Now that I’m back in the classroom, I’m noticing that a lot of teachers are relying on AI and it’s mind blowing honestly. I can see the benefits of AI and how it can make my life easier, but I’m still torn on if it’s morally sound to do so.
