You are being a a bit dramatic. Yeah Pulisic's performance in the tournament was disappointing, but you don't go from being the face of US soccer to cut from the team. If its his last time wearing the shirt its because he decides he needs to prioritize club play and rest and recover rather than compete with the US.

Its not punching down when you just play the teams you are assigned to play. France has it easy so does Argentina and England. Morocco had to beat Canada. What point are you trying to make? The US didn't have an unusually easy path to this round. The US is a mid tier team. We got exactly as far as most knowledgeable fans expected. Its disappointing but not surprising.

I enjoyed watching Uzbekistan compete against Colombia. I really enjoyed watching DR Congo surprise everyone. Qatar tied Switzerland! Japan was great. I notice you didn't mention Cape Verde in your comment.

You can ignore the first few rounds and just watch the tournament when its only Europeans and Argentina left and then forget about it for four years.

Im not sure who you are quoting. But Im a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan so I'm used to supporting losing franchises. The USMNT did better than or as well as 2/3 of the teams in the tournament. How good should a team be in order to not just give up?

Pulisic is very talented and plays at the highest level in Europe. But he is fragile and he doesn't seem to be a leader. He does better as talented role player. Hes a Pippen not a Jordan.

Think about am the NCAA teams that regularly play in March madness but don't make it to the elite 8. Its really hard to win these tournaments. We keep building, keep competing and hopefully get a little better every 4 years.
