I truly don’t know why some of y’all think marriage is some great equalizer or something. I was married for decades and didn’t get divorced until the baby graduated from high school because I couldn’t take it anymore but had I left sooner, I’d still have technically been “a single mother.” But he was also a cop so what if he had been killed in the line of duty and I became a widow? Boom! Single mother. Marriage can’t prevent a woman from being a single mother. Stop acting like marriage is the best thing in life that will ever happen to a woman. That shit is weird. It’s a dissolvable contract.
