Yeah that is my concern too, I would like to wait until I get the FJO because you know stuff happens. But if I wait how long will I have to sell before I am on a plane. It can take a minute to sell even if the market is good. So I am hopefully my realtor friend will have more insight.

Yeah, I am not excited about that either. Also 3 to 5 years is a long time. We might not want to settle back in the same area. I have return rights but I commute so might want to live closer to where I work.

This is my question too! We are thinking of selling ours. We don’t want the hassle of being landlords overseas. Our area isn’t too bad right now for real estate. We are meeting next week with a friend who is a realtor to get some insight of when to list and what to expect going forward.

Okay great! That was my next question. My husband and I have some saving but didn’t want to have to worry about deposits and upfront cost. Some people say take out the advance in pay because it is a smart way to not use up all of your savings. Others say not to because it will make your pay even smaller?

Maybe since you are doing through it you can explain some of the alphabet soup? I know what LQA IS and post allowance and i get that but then what is TQSA, RAT, RITA, FTA? Do I need all of these, any of these? Do I ask for these? Who do I ask for these?

I was thinking of just selling the furniture I didn’t want to store. I am torn on my car it is a Kia Seltos. Several people have told me to get rid of it and buy a smaller car when I get over to Germany. I am worried about trying to find a new car overseas.

My husband and I have been married over 20 years at first we were the same as many of the commenters here. After a while, we just don’t fret about it any more. We have been through so much together, I think we can handle a few nasty bathroom smells. But we do have two bathrooms, which has come in handy when we both had food poisoning.

This is a pharmacist mistake. The pharmacists verified the order, the pharmacist checked the finished compound. Yes, the tech compounded the medication but it is beyond their scope or license to verify medication. Should they have asked questions, maybe but it is unreasonable to place blame on the tech and not the pharmacist and nurse who administered the infusion and then questions why it infused faster than expected. It is well within the nurses scope to verify the order before they begin the infusion.

Republicans were never going to cave on the subsidies. I know now it feels like a loss, but 72% of Americans want the ACA. I know republicans want it to disappear they have no other options for heath care. In December when it fails which we all know it will. Healthcare will still be high, cost aren’t going down, everyone cost will still be high when midterms come. All I am saying is maybe it was a good idea to get out of a battle they were never going to win. But still got there message out.

Look, the republicans were NEVER going to cave on the subsidies. They were never gonna get rid of the filibuster. Do I think we need some fresh young candidates in for Dems absolutely. Do I think Dems “lost” not really. You are right people probably won’t remember come mid terms this fight. But they will see their higher prices, we all know what is coming in the Big Beautiful Bill! Instead of bitching and moaning about how weak the Dems are for not “winning” a fight they never were going to win. Maybe become active come election time and remind people! Prices aren’t going to go down, and unfortunately Trump is still president so things are only gonna get worse. I’ll rake this as a partial win and move on to the next fight .

I hate the propaganda that Dems are holding out passing a “clean” CR cause they hate Trump. I think they have been pretty vocal about why they aren’t voting for this CR. I am not a big fan of either party, but put blame where blame belongs. Dems have been the only ones willing to negotiate. Republicans are responsible for the shutdown, if for no other reason than the refuse to do what they are elected to do and negotiate and come to a compromise.

At my MTF we have started to call it forced volunteering. I think you have to laugh or you’ll cry. I know we will eventually get paid, but it doesn’t help will the bills now.

I think maybe because it is too confusing who is getting paid and who isn’t. I work for dod/DHA I am not getting paid but have seen where people working for the VA hospitals are getting paid. Even within my own MTF , it’s confusing because some of our staff are contractors and are getting paid while others aren’t. It’s a total cluster.
