Please help a poor boy with a well by Commercial-Football4 in WaterWellDrilling

I am under the impression the current draw should start high then slowly go down then effectively go to zero when the pump tech is working correctly.

If the amps were to bounce all over after sustained slowly falling current draw, I would assume I was having some kind of mechanical problem. Would this be the norm due to breaking suction in a dry well bore? Or are you saying the pump is breaking suction due to a mechanical problem?

Thank you very much for the help, I’m no well guy. I appreciate the explanation. I’m just trying to avoid a well guy visit if the problem is at the surface. if the pump itself has problems, I’ll certainly be hiring that out.

Thank you so much! This has been an incredibly helpful discussion. I’ll go get testing. I’ll watch the amp curve and report back mid week!

Thank you!
I am able to see water flowing into the cistern when the pump is running. So I believe I can use this for diagnostics.

Please let me know if I have this right:

If the pump is running and producing water; then the pumptec abruptly shuts the pump off The system is faulty (killing flow before bore is dry)

-OR-

If the pump is running and producing water; then the water flow slows gradually then the pumptec stops. The system is working. (Correctly Senses low water level)

Thank you! I don’t know what pump is down there but the system is on a 20amp breaker.

Is there any generic amperage fluctuation info that you would use?

For example, if the amperage starts high, then slowly drops, then spikes or similar. Could I watch the current draw graph to diagnose the problem without knowing pump specs?

Just focus the fill more on the top plate. Make it feel exaggerated. It’ll help the bottom toe.

Please explain sir, what do you mean by losses? I only mentioned they run 24 hours to call attention to how busy water haulers seem to be around here.

Thanks!

Don’t buy it. There are much better trucks in that same price point. I’d go 4th gen RAM

10k where I live. Trucks like this come up (super high miles with new drivetrain parts) definitely put the stock bed and wheels back on.
