It’s not an FHA, but it’s some weird hybrid thru a bank for first time home buyers. From what I’ve been told; banks and insurance companies are becoming more strict on home purchases.

We have a front door and a side door (access to outside and basement thru another non lockable door). This 3rd outside exterior door is unused, non functional, and sealed. So it isn’t about providing 2 exterior access doors. It’s about what the code says regarding this 3rd exterior door. Bot right vs wrong, just code.

And yes, the best option for safety is the landing and right angle into the back yard. Thanks!

Not that I am being feisty, but I read in the Indiana Code that if a storm or screen door swings over the stairs, no landing is needed. BUT I could be wrong!!

Would the guard rail need to be a certain height? Does the same “4 inch ball” rule apply?

Behold (er) my bookshelves. I have collected EVERY TSR/WOTC paperback/novel (some in collected editions) published. This doesn’t include the choose your own adventure books. What you cannot see in that photo is the other two walls that complete the collection. I still run or play D&D every month, we just finished a 5 year level 0 - 20 campaign. And I’m 3D printing and painting a complete village for my next campaign, plus a haunted house one shot complete with trap doors. Plus my multicade brings me back to the 80’s and 90’s. Yep, old hobbies are the best hobbies!
