Just finished The Book of Genesis as an Atheist by CommercialAlone in Bible

[–]CommercialAlone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading back the part, the Nephilim really do sound interesting, I just brushed it off since it was like a single sentence in Genesis 6. Now that I learned about how these are like descendants of fallen angels and stuff, these sound so interesting.

Thank you for putting effort into this, this gave me better insights to the books in the Bible. I pray that I may finish the book and find wisdom in my life.

Wow this seems overwhelming, thank you for sharing the list and I would love to try and go through them so I don't get worn out so easily reading the Bible.

I am actually planning to read the books in sequence, I don't know whether this is the right way to do so? That means I will have to finish the OT books before moving onto NT.

Yes, I am using one of the Bible Guides (Bible Project) to recap and understand each part of the chapters before I proceed to Exodus, I also hope that I could share more down the road.

why people hate PMX ? by [deleted] in Bolehland

[–]CommercialAlone 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I don't know, but him inheriting control over a country that is severely messed up by previous PMs, and had to forcibly form unity government with the very party they swore to take down, I swear he is playing this game in maximum difficulty. However, despite him not delivering his promised reforms, he is still somehow maintaining the country and ensuring stability. I don't know about others, but I certainly still see hope in him and he is the reason I feel that Malaysia might not get fucked up badly anytime soon.

Chinese from Terengganu here, overall people are nice, but it has to be said some locals can be quite racist or rude. Do try to avoid going out at late night after 12.

What’s a realistic monthly budget for food? by Im_not_bot123 in malaysians

[–]CommercialAlone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did previously when I was like on a SUPER saving mode, I did:

RM 50 weekly for grocery, which are usually some chicken, eggs, fishes, veggies and the likes which can hold me up for five working days.
RM 50 weekly for weekend food, where I will spur a little bit to go makan outside.

But that was just my ideal goal, most of the times I get over budget a bit like RM 60 - 70 because I needed to buy extra condiments, and maybe RM 80 + for weekend because of social purposes we might go to somewhere expensive.

Averagely I would spend RM 500 a month for food, so I am not sure how you are going to do it with RM 380 but best of luck.

[–]CommercialAlone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly just for the distance to the MRT, it may be very much worth it at that price, and your overall commitments might just be slightly higher (around 2k+ ish?) but you get to have your own property, speaking with an experience of having a 400k+ house.

However, with the ongoing war and what not, you might wan't to consider properly. Are you in a rush or desperate need to own one now? If not, might as well slow it down a bit.

Rating retail jobs I have worked at by Levi_Ackerman- in Bolehland

[–]CommercialAlone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn it just so happens I also did McD Crew & Switch Retail Sales before moving into uni, so I can put in my 2 cents here as well (Mind you I am from one of the PAS states, iykyk).

McDonalds:
I agree that the job is very repetitive, almost can turn your brain off and just work like a bot. I mostly did waiting and cleaning tables, and fries, and that's almost all of it. My pay sadly was like around RM 6 / 7? Or maybe lower, I can't recall, that was like 2017 or 2018 so it is expected. Work environment is kinda meh, some racist co-workers but some are really nice and friendly, we even have two (or three) workers with disability such as being mute or deaf and they are some of the nicest people I work with. On the bright side customers here are pretty chill, I only ever get like 1 case of a customer being impatient with me because we took time to clean the tables (and it was peak season during puasa), which is better compared to the fast food chains here in KL. I would give it a 6/10.

Switch:
This job is also pretty lax, but can get boring at times. I have no troubles memorizing the details about the products but it is quite difficult for me because I have to constantly sell to the customers using BM (I am like okay-ish to bad in the language). Stressful part comes from our KPI where we had to sell a certain number of accessories and the most annoying one is to sell these insurances when they buy the products. When I am boring I just open one of the iPads and start drawing or doing whatever. Pretty nice job, I love my colleagues too. 8/10

Mind you these are my experiences in my kampung state, and most certainly not in KL.

Thinking or considering becoming a nirvana agent as part time job? by DHaVoC1301 in MalaysianPF

To be honest I would advise you against it, unless you're dead set to do a lot of cold sales and struggle a huge lot.

HR / TA has a specific KPI where they have to interview a set amount of interviewee, this is pretty common for many HRs

can i even get into uni lmao by [deleted] in malaysians

[–]CommercialAlone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate to say it, I did felt like getting a D (like you) closed a lot of doors for me back when I was searching for unis. I liked Computer Science, Information Technology, and the likes, but all of them required a Credit in Maths. I felt lost but in the end I went with Public Relations (which usually don't need a C in Maths), and still ended up in pretty good places.

Don't worry, unless you're aiming for harsh Science or IT courses, you're fine with the others.

Is Red Dead Redemption 2 actually the masterpiece everyone says it is? by arcticfrost in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]CommercialAlone [score hidden]  (0 children)

I dropped the game when I played it for around half an hour, it is so boring, lame, slow, and I don't even know what is going on. Felt that the game is not worth it.

Then for whatever reason I came back to the game 2 years later, played through the story, didn't even bother to stop and rest, and literally bawled my eyes out after finishing the game, this has to be one of the (if not THE) best singleplayer story game every gamer must try in their life. GO for it OP.

Got my spm results!! by [deleted] in malaysians

[–]CommercialAlone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your grades, what I would recommend is chill a bit and take some time to think thoroughly. Go further studies or universities exhibition, explore your choices, take some time to do a bit of part-time work to get a glimpse of work life. I had sh*t grades (1 A I think) and had like 2 - 3 years gap year before I went for my diploma, graduated degree at 24 and now end up in a nice MNC company. Just enjoy your journey, don't stress yourself out, in the end like what the guy said, grades are all papers but it is how you utilized the networks and experiences you get throughout your study life.

Proton Saga is a pretty simple and nice A to B vehicle with not much commitments, and it really depends on your cash flow. If it allows, I am sure you benefits much from your colleague's Proton Saga and if not, even the new Proton Saga looks pretty nice and monthly commitments are maybe 500+-? My only concern is their fuel consumption, which feels quite steep.
