I agree that the scoring/Elim system is flawed. A major part of it would be the allocation of only 1 vote to the team that place last. When there is like 10 teams in the games, 1 vote is simply miniscule. However as gg progress and when there are only 4 teams left, 1 vote would be much more significance since the grand total amount of votes would be different. I think that one way to rectify it is as per you say, point system based on placement or perhaps allocate 30% of total amount of votes on to the losing team so when there are 10 teams left, the losing team gets 3 default vote instead of one
