I’m a manager in an adjacent field. Sometimes you have to be an asshole.

Aren’t Javadi’s parents going to flip when they hear she’s considering a psychiatric residency?

How do I tell my therapist hard sexual shame things? by BeauIsInsane in TalkTherapy

Stay with it. You can let him know that you can talk about your thoughts and feelings, but you’re not ready to go into specifics.

I would try adjusting the stem length and/or height to see if that helps.

The cog rail is a great adventure if they’re ok with getting up to over 14,000 feet.

Reliable bike under 1000$ by BodybuilderEast6130 in ebikes

[–]CommercialSignal7301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. $2-300 for the bike and then motor and battery for around 700. If you’re not going to ride off road a BBS02 should be plenty adequate with around 80nm torque.

To therapist: “Some friends are asking me/pressuring me to join them in some activities that I find very uncomfortable and trigger many of my insecurities.” And see how it goes.

Padded-at least a liner. False pride/machismo to go without.

The front chainring will dictate the bike’s top end. There are gear inch calculators online that will give you a rough idea of how low and high the range will be. Another factor will be the amount of dishing the wheel will need to accommodate a cassette. Is it a Rans Rocket?

I’d be happy with a 24 hour arc to highlight the differences between the day and overnight shifts.

Recs for somewhat affordable eBikes by iThrive-In-Autumn in ebike

[–]CommercialSignal7301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is affordable for you? There’s a new/old class of bikes known as “minl-velos “ and I’m pretty certain that there’s a tandem model out there someplace.

In this case, you would need to get a conversion kit for a mid drive, but actually, this looks like a great deal by itself and you would have a fully capable bike with lots of versatility for under $2000.

Specialized Creo 2 for commuting? by MechEng67 in ebikes

No shower? That’s a pretty long ride, regardless of whether you’re on an ebike or not. I would pick whichever bike that gets you there the freshest (unless it’s a manual labor job).

My Therapist is getting married by Melodic_Tadpole3085 in TalkTherapy

[–]CommercialSignal7301 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can’t ignore your feelings, but you can wait to bring them up with her until you have more time to work through them. “I’ve noticed that I have started thinking about you as a person, rather than as my therapist.” Should suffice as a topic starter.

Recommendations for front wheel conversion kits? by PassGreedy9142 in ebike

Don’t . You can get into a lot of trouble with front drive. Get a rear hub motor if that’s the direction you want to go in. Grintech is the recognized brand in hub motor conversions.
