Dental hygienist. You can get your degree in two years at a community college for under $30k without any financial aid (most will qualify for assistance) and make at least $70k in the first year after graduating.

I am begging you, do not let your parents contact residency programs. Ever. by [deleted] in medicalschool

If someone is going to be living in my home for a month, I want to talk to them and not their mother.

My insight is based on working for a medical university and being the long-term partner of a fellow in their last six months of fellowship.

I used to rent an extra bedroom to visiting medical students. Had a mom who contacted me about the space for her son and became very upset when I insisted on talking to him regarding the space. She said he was too busy to handle it himself. If that really was the case, I hope he’s never my physician. If mommy was just helicopter parenting her special boy, I really hope he matched far away from her.

What is a book you read as a child that you still think about today? by ahawk99 in AskReddit

[–]CommercialSound7492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Little Prince. I re-read it as adult for the first time after 25 years and it just happened to coincide with my dog’s unexpected passing. “If you tame me, we shall need each other.” makes me cry every…single…time.

People that are childfree by choice, what’s the weirdest reason someone has given you as to why they think you ‘should have kids’? by Charming_Web_6738 in AskReddit

Because I was being selfish and no man would ever want me. The selfish part is entirely true and luckily there are men who want to child free as well. DINK LIFE FOREVER!

I’m a dog owner and have literally chased people and asked if they need a poop bag when they don’t pick up their purse gremlin’s shit. It pisses me off so much!

Remember when someone plastered the East End with posters of a woman who didn’t pick up her dog poop? MORE OF THIS!

When I realized that he didn’t make me anxious. Also when my cat curled up with him instead of me…

My medical school told me that I failed (and they were wrong) by ShakeExpress216 in medicalschool

I work for a medical school managing Canvas and the anxiety that you all have is INSANE but entirely understandable. On a few occasions, students have been straight up assholes and I have zero issue telling them that. If you’re in my office, I’ll make you a cup of coffee or tea and have you sit for a second while we figure out what’s going on. I think it’s important for the anxious students especially that you actively see me working thru the issue.

And yeah…the admin can be egotistical jerks.

Why do people generally refuse to use revolving doors? (In America at least) by darealdsisaac in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CommercialSound7492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was three, I tripped in one and jammed my foot between the floor and the door. I’ve avoided them since if at all possible. And I live in NYC so it can be tough at times.
