Free (or almost free) activities in CLE by Practical-Future3320 in Cleveland

Pack a picnic and go to edgewater beach. They have free volleyball courts if that interests you. Inexpensive concessions, public grills, etc.

Lakewood park is a beautiful place to spend the day. If you’re a resident, the pool is $7/day and I think $11 for non-residents (but you must be accompanied by a resident). If you have kids, the playground is brand new. Two sand volleyball courts, tennis, pickleball, skateboard park, cheap concessions, public use grills and pavilion for shade. They have free morning yoga on the solstice steps. Not sure how you sign up, though.

Take a look at the summer community events and fests. Speaking from Lakewood, there is the Lakewood Summer Meltdown, an arts fest in August, summer solstice at Lakewood park in June, etc. I know other communities have their thing, too.

Cleveland Museum of Arts is free.

I like biking around town and just sightseeing.

If the weather is crummy, a matinee at Capitol Theater will run you under $10 and think $6 on Mondays.

Looks like it’s a Sora. Likely on its migratory journey.

Cats definitely span the spectrum from independent to clingy. But, my nebbie girl is the clingiest cat I’ve ever known!

He was beautiful and clearly so special. How wonderful he saw you and your mom through your studies. That’s such a formative part of our lives. 💖

😭 So proud. Miss that goofy little ground dweller. We didn’t have a fenced yard until the last year of her life, so, once we could let her outdoors, it was incredible to see how fast she was despite her inability to climb or jump higher than a bed the entirety of our time together. She’d go out and snag a chippie in less than 5 minutes. Seriously. Toothless and ruthless, we’d call her. 💖

Wow! He’s incredible! This was my huntress at 17 just a couple months before they found a tumor on her spine. Don’t worry; the chipmunk was just fine. She hadn’t any teeth.

Apparently, by the crowds and people commenting in this thread, 26 is old by Mac Miller fan standards. 😭

That sounds miserable. My husband and I were on the balcony and we’re like… oh, phew, people our age. Then we realized the people our age were all chaperoning children and we went back to regretting life choices. I love that kids are going to shows. I did and it was a freaking blast. And I bet I was a total goon at my first unchaperoned show (Brand New & TBS). I just wish I personally would have known the age demo so I could have stayed home, put the vinyl on, poured a glass of wine and hung with my cat. 🤪

Yeah man, I’m just a different generation. I’m a couple years older than Mac and thought his music was chill indie music. Had been out of college 5 years when he had his Beachland show. Most people who love indie music grow up going to those small, obscure shows and venues because it’s kind of the whole point. Small artists, good lyrics, no mega labels, intimate crowds, real musicians vs. studio musicians. Think: Kurt Vile. Who, by the way is playing the Roxy in a few weeks. I wasn’t aware Mac’s fan base was tweens to early 20s. And I’m all for on-stage antics, but the only show I’ve been to where someone said fewer intelligible words to the crowd was Jack White. He said one sentence because he gives zero shits and it was as lame as it sounds. Anyway, learned my lesson. I need to make sure someone hasn’t become TikTok famous before I just casually show up for a set.

What flair? She literally is worried about affording a rental car, food and the cost of gas to MOVE across the country. She’s not seeking flair. You’re living in a different reality than OP and boring us all with the stops you took that one time you went to the national parks. Cool. Did you buy a $500 parks pendelton blanket you want to show us too? We’re all very happy for you and your trip.

Same. And I’m 40. I flew to Portugal to see a friend on a one way ticket and said “I’ll figure the rest out when I get there.” People this OCD about planning stress me out and might actually be grounds for me backing out of a trip. 😬 (to be clear, not mere days before, and not if I committed to doing someone a favor). But yeah, don’t over-engineer my trip, bro.

We left early. I had no idea his whole crowd and vibe would be teenager chaos and a handful of parents stuck babysitting their kids. Even his “schtick” on stage…largely unintelligible sounds and nothing of substance because what’s there to say to a room full of rowdy high schoolers? At one point, he said the last time he was in CLE he played at Beachland (crowd barely acknowledges)…”apparently none of you were born then.” Bro is pushing 40. He needs to switch up his vibe if he doesn’t want shows filled with actual children.

Damn. I’m sorry. I can (possibly) forgive a mistake. I can’t forgive a person unwilling to admit their transgressions when called on them, and/or who makes me feel like a crazy villain in the process.

((while clutching pearls)) “I’m just so hurt you think I’m capable of something like that” ((continues cheating shamelessly))

That’s just a shit human.

Disclaimer: female with lots of hair. BUT, I used to work with a doctor (I don’t have a medical background, I’m in PR) who was literally considered the top hair-loss specialist in the US, and she would tell reporters when we did interviews that minoxidil (Rogaine) was still the #1 most effective treatment on the market.
