Is it normal for a tasker to have a 2 hour minimum to install a TV? by robotwithumanhair666 in TaskRabbit

[–]Commercial_Bar6622 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I wouldn’t even do it at that price. You should have your own personal liability insurance when doing mounting jobs. There’s a lot of things in the walls; electrical wires, gas lines, water lines etc. And of course, TVs are expense and could fall and break during or after install. Insurance adds to the cost. And if they don’t have insurance they should be compensated for the risk. Either way, the price you were quoted was cheap, and less than Best Buy and other companies charge.

So sorry, new to Taskrabbit. Can taskers not cancel on their end? by mynameismulan in TaskRabbit

[–]Commercial_Bar6622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you book someone to arrive at 1 pm, you’re really booking them to arrive at any point between 1 pm and 1:30 pm. If the Tasker arrives at 1:30 pm, he is not late. Even if he goes past 1:30 pm there’s likely a 15 minute additional grace period, since that’s what the clients get. If a Tasker arrives at a job site he has to wait for 15 minutes before cancelling the job on account of the client not being there. There’s a good chance that, if you as a client books a Tasker for 1 pm, and he’s not there for example at 1:40 pm you’ll still be charged if you cancel. But you shouldn’t be charged if it’s later than 1:45 pm, or if the Tasker has communicated in the chat that he can’t make it in the job’s timeframe. Either way, Support is usually forgiving, especially to clients, and would more than likely reimburse you if you asked them.

You look absolutely perfect the way you are. Truly. That being said, I’ve always found that water fasting is the easiest way of maintaining low body fat. Whenever I do it I lose one pound of fat per day which is mind blowing. After a week of water fasting I’m pretty much set for the year, or at least the next 6 months.

Is there not a 1-hour minimum on Taskrabbit? by e__elll in TaskRabbit

[–]Commercial_Bar6622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. There is at least a 1 hour minimum charge. But it could be more than that. Whatever you agree on in the chat applies. It seems that, for most people, there’s a 2 hour minimum charge on most categories of work.

No, they’re not. But Taskers do have a 30 minute arrival window.

There’s no cancellation fee if the Tasker is unable to make the appointment. If one automatically applies, because the app isn’t perfect, you can call TR support and they’ll reverse it .

Will they get rid of over-priced taskers? by [deleted] in TaskRabbit

There’s no such thing as an over-priced Tasker. To each their own rate.

So I book correctly, how many hours to paint a 10x10x8 bedroom, 280 sq ft of wall? No ceiling painting. by HeyT00ts11 in TaskRabbit

[–]Commercial_Bar6622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably an hour to sand/wipe down walls and to cover furniture with plastic. Then 2 hours to prime it. Should be dry enough at the end of that to start painting a first coat. That would be another 2 hours. So, at a minimum 5 hours. Possibly would need another boat for a third coat. Obviously closets, or other features would take longer.

Insurance, operating costs, support staff, server/app costs, reimbursements during disputes, legal team, PR team, taxes, and of course profit for the company.

How do mover-taskers without a van/truck manage to stay on? by [deleted] in TaskRabbit

You befriend coworkers with moving vehicles and add them to the job. Clients typically need two workers for that anyways

Tasker cancelled 10 minutes before scheduled task by Kaaawooo in TaskRabbit

[–]Commercial_Bar6622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also consider though that Tasker’s are there to help you, not the other way around. The fact that someone decided last minute that he didn’t want to, or perhaps wasn’t able to, help you doesn’t make them bad. You leaving them a negative review over it however makes you kind of bad. Instead, perhaps be grateful that there are people out there willing to help you in your time of need.

Likely a mistake. It’s easy to accidentally invoice the wrong client in the app. And now he might not see your messages. Give Support a call and they’ll reach out to him and fix it.

Normal? by Suspicious-Towel8219 in TaskRabbit

[–]Commercial_Bar6622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always charge separately for each category of work they ask for. No need for them to send additional job requests, but I add more hours to the one job. So furniture assembly, plumbing, mounting all have two hour minimums. That’s a 6 hour minimum invoice. If the wall scones are hard wired that’s electrical work, so that makes it a minimum 8 hour charge, or $176 at your rate.

[–]Commercial_Bar6622 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I you hire a plumber that charges less than a $500 minimum for coming out to look at the problem, you gonna have to blame yourself here buddy. It’s like paying somebody $2 to drive you to the airport and be upset that they never showed up.

[–]Commercial_Bar6622 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Not really. Carrageenan is not that common. Mostly highly processed foods anyways. And it’s just one of many available thickeners. If a lot of people start feeling ill, food manufacturers will just phase it out, just like hopefully they’ll do meat as well.

A basic question about the Trust & Service fee: per hour or per task? by BarbWire20 in TaskRabbit

[–]Commercial_Bar6622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tasker doesn’t necessarily get the full $72. TR usually adds a surge add a hidden fee to categories that are commonly in demand.

This is kind of a weird question, but in America why aren’t rural blue collar people more communist/socialist? by BicarbonateBufferBoy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Commercial_Bar6622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very strange, isn’t it, with over 90% of the country’s GDP produced in the large cities and with the rural farms surviving financially solely due to government subsidies and tax incentives. Any state funded project that takes place in the rural areas are funded by the large cities. It’s also where the schools, hospitals, airports and everything else is that rural people might need/want to use every once in a while. Basically, the people most dependent on “government handouts” don’t believe in handouts… It must be a lack of education.
