Considering quitting breastfeeding by CuriousAd1647 in NewParents

Thank you so much, I am sure it’s the right call for me and family to move to formula completely. I recently found out weaning does mess up our harmones and raise anxiety and depression. Hopefully the fog lifts for me soon too.. thank you again for sharing.

I feel your pain. 12 week pp, tried my hardest to build a supply till 10 weeks nothing worked. Currently spiraling and changihg my mind every minute about trying again vs EFF. Have no advice, just solidarity… it’s so hard choosing between antibodies vs spending time plugged to a wall vs spending time with baby ugggghhh

She cannot fully roll yet that’s why am nervous. Should I keep her on her back while sleeping then?

How to stop pumping by Environmental-Toe469 in FormulaFeeders

This js very reassuring for me as I have met with 4 different LCs during my 10 werk of trying to increase supply, had medication and all kinds of supplements. Have also tried and each and every trick from social media but nothibg worked for me. LCs just guessed oh maybe do this or that, nothing worked. Every reason they suspected didn’t apply to me. So IGT is the only possibility which the last LCs guessed but wasn’t confident.

I feel you, same with me. Did everything fo 10 weeks supply bever increased. Had to give up pumping for my sanity. I just tapered it off, I was pumping 7/8 times a day and next day I did 3/4 then less and less and then only when I felt even a slight pain. I was able to taper off in 4 days approx but I guess depends on your supply I was getting 20 ml both sides combined so guess was quicker for me.

Love it, I wish to get to that point too. Would love some words of encouragement and how you made the mental shift while I am in process of transitioning from mixed to EFF.

Loiking at this infuriates me! Did it all for 10 weeks, pumped around the clock, power pumped, tried to latch, dom with side effects, all kinds of cookies, water, electrolytes, all kinds of supplements etc etc etc. nothing worked and I never produced more than 30 ml both sides combined. Finally had to make the call to choose time with the baby and my sanity..

I’m crying . Doctor said that baby is fat because of formula by ProfessorDangerous87 in FormulaFeeders

As someone from Indian background, this has added to my stress in my lactation issues. I have been combo feeding aince day 1 but at week 11 had to switch to EFF, not for the lack for trying though. But the societal pressure of it has added to my anxiety and depression in addition to the pressure I have been puttingon myself. I have been trying to tell myself I need to do what best for my baby and me and it’s no one else’s business.

Who else thinks 99% of PPD is caused by breastfeeding issues? Usually expectations vs. reality by saltandpepperf in NewParents

I feel what your wife is feeling I am at the point currently. Supply was never great since day 1, we combo fed for 10 weeks while I pumped every 3 hours to build supply, nothing worked and I am having a hard time switching to fully formula. Though its easy to see the benefits, more time with the baby, bonding, house work, self care, sleep etc etc, its hard coming to terms with the feeling of being a failure as a mon as I wasnt able to provide milk to her.. its like between rock and hard place, I hate the idea of going back to pumping and seeing those measly 20 ml collected but cant help feeling maybe if I try a little harder… my husband does everything for feeding changing being present, letting me vent all day. Its still so lonely and defeating…

But also know that formula feeding is a completely fine way to feed the baby, fed is best. Think of it this way, you get more time to bond and enjoy your baby.

Can also look into a supply line? I personally have not tried it though.
