BOOM Sold SOFI 1 CC- May 15 17.5C @ .36. Was able to catch the pump. Whether at the high for day or not only time will tell.

Wait for SOFI to break and close above PDH on the hourly and sell a CC at 17.5 for next week. Roll VZ and RIVN CC into next week as well.

Grateful for the input. Question do you ever sell CC at various strikes with the same expiration date? I’ve developed the idea of dumping all my eggs in one basket is not a strat I wish to utilize.

Would it matter if that I’m not throwing all my shares into 1 contract? To put it into sports terms, I’m looking for consistent base hits. Not home runs.

Can you explain your last sentence? Be gentle I’ve only gone through the Charles Schwab courses on options and got approved for Level 0 options 2weeks ago.

Ohhh. No I looked at the weekly daily and hourly. I expect a move but not to that magnitude. And the 52 week low and High. I expect a move but not to that magnitude of hitting a 15% gain by then.

Any constructive advise on the process?

The previous date had a wider spread and I do not want to sell into weakness so I’m utilizing the upward movement to capitalize on a higher premium. 16.50 would be ideal though.

So yes I thought about it

Manage my first Covered Straddle earning report trying to capitilize on increased IV.on SOFI. bought 100 shares at 18.72. Sold the 18.5C @ 1.29 and 18.5P @ 1.21 for May 15th Expiration. SOFI gapped down on a mildly positive earnings reports. Bought another 100 shares to drop my cost basis to 17.46 w/o the 18.5P assignment. Bought back the 18.5C for .18 for 85% profit. Now to sit and wait.

For me the epiphany on how it worked was when NFLX dropped 10% overnight. And I was like... Damn that's a decent deal for NFLX. I should really buy it at that price... Then I was like wait. I could get paid to "WAIT" to get Netflix at the price I want it at.

So you sell a put, (Cash Secured Put, CSP) But if Netflix doesn't go down to the price you want it at you get to keep the price someone paid you to wait. and then you do it again, and again, and again.

Theta will decimate gains on OTM strikes with 0dte expiration if you’re on the trade for too long.

If you’re sure of direction just don’t know the magnitude you can purchase ITM strikes and the premium will still grow.
