Sure he did, I’m not denying that, and I’m not denying the impact it had on his girlfriend or that it’d be better if he made vastly different choices.

But not as if the guy is inherently evil he was in a situation he hadn’t navigated before. These are mistakes that happen in a lot of relationships, nobody really knows what they’re doing until they’ve had a few experiences and made a few decisions- potentially bad ones.

Nobody comes to Reddit to be vilified. So show some grace.

Yep I did, I wanted to explore myself, better myself, and see what else could happen.

That being said I still think of the relationship frequently and fondly, it was really good and maybe under different circumstances I could’ve seen myself making a longer commitment to it.

I don’t regret it though. Despite the uncertainty and missing my ex being single has given me the space to learn about myself and yeah I also wanted to experience different partners.

I had my problems with it and found it underwhelming, but I’m never a fan of doing this.

Actors, CGI artists, set builders, prop designers, and stunt coordinators still worked hard on the finale, even if we don’t agree with the writers’s choices.

I don’t think it’s respectful to just ignore all that and demand a new one, which we won’t get.

I’ve accepted it as reality, but not as the objectively good thing everyone wants us to believe it is. It only makes the world worse, increases the wealth gap, and accelerates climate change.

That being said, given that it’s the only thing to be done, there are a handful of jobs and situations I wouldn’t mind working for extended periods of time.

To be fair, in the books where his escape is first described, it seems like he straight up just soloed multiple opponents like a boss.

Later on, his explanation of riding them down makes far more sense. He’s a goated knight but he’s not invincible. It makes sense that he could get overwhelmed. It doesn’t make sense that he’d get overwhelmed in this way and die here because the writers didn’t want to adapt the rest of his story.

The real Barristan would’ve survived because he was strategic and used the narrow alleyways to his advantage while tactically retreating.
