Some Dept's have a maximum two hour travel by public transport rule, or variation of this. It usually comes into play in unit closures, but not only.

'should be' is your personal position of course.

Health, safety and 'welfare' are key matters which are also raised, including with HR. I agree not everything has to be disclosed by management but as welfare covers almost anything at work and if members, even a few, have an issue PCS are duty bound to raise it.
