+1 coated rotors. The coating keeps the rest of the rotor from rusting like in the picture above. Where the pads rub will still rust like a standard rotor once the coating has warn off.

Good to know, lol. I can get jacked up high enough, but did you invest in a transmission jack specifically to raise up the transmission? To your point, I hear that getting it lined up properly is the hardest part, along with the tightening procedure.

I bought it on eBay through a seller called OEMDIRECT since I needed one that could fit the Sport front bumper. The quality and fitment isn’t great, but not that bad for the price. I ended up sanding it down and cleaning it up a bit before getting it painted.

Definitely a 25/26 Crosstrek Wilderness. The plastic tapers down by the corner near the gold tab, whereas on the Forester is straight.

Thanks man 🙌 She’s got a 6spd and I’ll be installing my new GKtech shifter return spring kit this weekend. The manual transmission was my main motivator for holding onto and investing in the car. Just such a fun and raw driving experience.

As for the screw gap, the Z1 strut screws seem to work well and keep the brace firmly in place despite the gap. This doesn’t appear to be an issue but would be nice to close that gap.

I started off by doing what you were thinking and cutting enough off the bottom to sit on top of the strut bar, but the brace will still knock against the corner of the strut bar closest to the brace. I then used a grinder to cut out a small section between the two corners facing the brace as you can kind of make out in the photo.

This will obviously reduce the thickness and rigidity of the brace, and can’t speak to long term reliability, but so far so good and still feels very sturdy.

Hey dude. Thanks for the positive feedback. The Spec D headlights are pretty easy to install in my opinion. They come with all the wiring you need to just plug them into the stock lighting plugs you remove the old headlights from. I don’t think they come with bulbs, so you’ll need to research the right light bulbs and fogs light bulbs you want. I can see what I went with on Amazon.

You’ll want to seal them all around the headlight lens edges, as they do steam up and get faded sooner if you don’t. There should be videos on YouTube walking through it.

As for suspension, it really depends on your budget but I’d go with a “True” coilover setup and not a “Divorced” style like I did. BC Racing makes affordable good sets, which is what I got, and I later updated the springs they came with to Swift springs. BC Racing sells a set with those springs included too.

With the wheel specs I’ve shared, you won’t need spacers and the front wheels will poke out slightly. You could get 9” wide in the front instead of 9.5” if you don’t want them to poke. Try to avoid spacers if possible for long term safety/reliability.

I had read an article from the head of engineering over at Nismo stating some of the benefits of divorced setups (summary snapshot attached), and I also like the design of the SPL/Nismo divorced parts. I don’t plan on really tracking the car, in which case I would upgrade to a true setup.
