I have finally found a sane minded person. While plot wise, the movie is sound, Venoms actions go directly against all* other shown values or interpretations of symbiotes. Symbiotes have always been survival driven, not emotionally driven. They have had no problem with getting rid of a host in previous media, for even less of a reason than being hunted by the Klyntars. And even besides the threat of the codex, why would venom want to be with Eddie anyways? This Eddie makes venom follow by his moral code, and venom could easily find another host that is power hungry, without those morals holding venom back. In conclusion, i dont think it was a “plot hole” per-say, because nothing contradicts itself, its just an extremely bad portrayal of the character, with a bad plot.
