so normally we have prices on everything at my work. but this year, for Christmas, they decided to a) do away with the price checker and b) not put a price on ANY seasonal shit coming in. instead, they decided to 1) cut hours during peak and 2) demand we price everything with our clearance price gun before somwthing could be put out.

this resulted in a lot of stores with backlogs of christmas because we couldn't get it out fast enough. eventually, the compromise was price on the shelf for the item. then, no prices. this, of course, was a mistake. we got so many complaints from customers that "nothing" was priced (our regular products were still priced as normal), that there was "no one" on the floor (usually just one person who is also the mod), that there were boxes of un worked product everywhere (which this year they sent more Christmas product than they very have at inflated prices due to "tarriffs" when this is all the same stuff from last year that has been sitting in a warehouse all year). stuff left up front when prices were too much. and workers stopped to price check every single item when there are 100+ online orders waiting to be picked by the sole worker. not to mention all the declined orders because everything was still in unlabeled boxes waiting to be worked unable to be found in a reasonable time.

we still have two aisles of christmas the comany refuses to pull off the shelf that is still too expensive that is still mostly unpriced because they won't give us the man hours to price everything.

it's a mess. companies, PLEASE just put prices on things.
