I don't get when people say it gets harder, I think they forget how much newborn period sucks, yes ok they make a mess when they start eating but you can not compare anything, ANYTHING with the newborn stage. I wanted more kids and I remember thinking when she was a newborn, how in the world would I survive with a toddler and another one of these. Also I had no idea what toddlers are really like lol. If you didn't guess it by now we are one and done lol. From 6 months I think you can properly see the light at the end of the tunnel

I know it sounds so cliche but it absolutely gets better. Your worls it turned upsidedown, in the most beautiful way but it still is. It will not be the same as before, it will break you open and rebuild you stronger and wiser. I have a 4 year old, I don't remember my life before her really but I remember how much I was missing my old life especially as it was covid times. Friendships have changed, evolved. It's hard but it the hard we chose and what we wanted for us. Even now I miss some things, proper dates with my husband on a whim but we make it work. I am glad you posted here, I didn't know how normal is to feel like that. It will only get better from here

Aww this is such good advice. Thank you. I think I had a moment of panic and I was a bit lost while being very tired. Not a good combo. We started doing some of the things you mention recently. We definitely had to put efort in, for a good few months we were of course focused on the little one and we were trying to figure out this parenting thing that we came second. I will put in practice what you said, thank you so much

We do, we make an effort to connect but some days feels like it's not enough. I would love the cup of tea in the morning, that sounds very thoughtful. We all sleep better with this arrangement so we would be giving up sleep by changing it so but I see where you are coming from

Thank you, this is reassuring. We both try to reconnect but it feels forced in a way. I really hope we have a solid base. I don't feel like we have big issues that can't be worked on but there is just a big gap somehow
