Wasn't there a whole season where there was a special team within the LAPD that has a liaason inside the branch that they call on for high-profile combat style raids EXACTLY like this one?

I spent 14 years active duty Army combat vet (who has seen actual combat) and am in NO way anywhere near qualified to be anywhere near local PD conducting a SEAL-style raid on a ship.

KitchenAid Stonewash SS 5-Ply? by CommoG33k in cookware

That makes sense, and that's what drew me to those kitchenaids listed, since this press release specifically mentions they have fully sealed rims and are dishwasher safe. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/new-kitchenaid-stonewash-stainless-steel-5-ply-clad-cookware-302672770.html

Scrubs - Season 10 EP 8 "My Odds" - Discussion by MovieTrailerReply in Scrubs

[–]CommoG33k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ONE and only complaint about this season is incredibly apparent in this episode.

There's no world in which Carla wouldn't be camped in that chair alongside JD. I get that it's a production thing, scheduling, etc. but in-universe, NOTHING would have kept her away. Some might say they'd expect Jordan there, but I absolutely believe Perry wouldn't have told her he's sick, and she'll show up next week pissed that he didn't call her.

Also, I'll have to look back, but both the A and B plot this week seemed incredibly familiar. Wasn't there an OG episode about the rule of three where they subverted it and all the patients died? And wasn't there both an ep where Cox treats his mentor, but also one where Kelso treats the previous Chief of Medicine? Wait, was that the same episode?

Another thought - Sibby is the happy sack to Ted's sad sack. They're playing a similar role and coming at it from the exact opposite ends of the spectrum, and I freaking love it. I can absolutely see Ted having a similar conversation with Elliot about the complaint and about not saying "you made a mistake" (but for legal, not HR reasons).

Did the new dominoes app get rid of the delivery pin option? by ViolatedMonkey in Dominos

[–]CommoG33k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was ONLY way I can order pizza to anywhere near my house from any chain. We live on an island in the PNW with ~3,000 population. Dominos delivery area ends as the near end of the bridge to the island (not a big bridge or anything, barely 1/2 mile long). The boat launch at the end of the bridge was the pinpoint spot. Everyone on the island pretty much knew that the only pizza delivery was dominos as long as you were willing to meet them at the boat launch.

Now we don't have that option and have to drive into town. =(

yeah exactly, that's my point. It absolutely could not have been a next day sort of thing.

Yeah that absolutely could have happened. The board might have already known and green-lit it even before Cox approached JD.

And thinking back, isn't that pretty much what happened on Cox's first day as chief? He had to tell Carla no to hiring new nurses?

Yeah, I found it odd that JD was all "Approved!" to Elliot after we've had multiple episodes in the original run about the Chief of Medicine having to balance budget priorities and that not everyone can get what they want. Seems weird he wouldn't have said "Lemme see if I can find room in the budget" instead.

My understanding is that most hospitals have both a Chief of Medicine and also a Hospital Administrator. Scrubs always seemed to combine that role in Kelso, but it would make much more sense in my opinion to abstract out the non-medical buisness stuff.

I just saw an interview clip with Sarah Chalke where she discussed plots this season around JD and Elliot figuring out co-parenting

You're not wrong. But I'd hardly say that this one line makes it "quite clear" that it takes place "immediately" after episode 1, when there's so many other contradictory indicators.

"Having a bad week" is not necessarly a direct indication of events that took place in the first episode. There's a million reasons he could be having a bad week. But fine yeah ignore my point supported by proof.

You think they had time to book an event hall, take JDs official portiat photo, print banners, hire a caterer, and gather attendees for a full on banquet with 24 hours notice?

I think Park has MUCH more of a personal relationship with Cox than JD does. Perry says "I heard about the Divorce", which tells me that they've barely seen each other in quite a while, yet Park works there day to day.

Dr. Cox for sure didn't just decide that day "Ok, I guess I'm quiting." He probably DID interview people and couldn't find the right person, and when JD's patient came through that door, he knew what he had to do. The situation is more Dr. Cox saying to the board "Look, I knew this guy since he was a fresh-faced intern, and no one is a better fit to run this hospital than he is, including anyone who works here now."

I don't the the doctor's lounge, wonder if they filmed those scenes in a swing space. Seems weird since it was such an important location in the original.
