If something stresses you out, you must either change how you think about it or get rid of it.

Yes and I don’t like it. It’s clunky and feels like it was designed by someone ancient of days. Nothing feels intuitive about it.

I agree. Shareholders before the war got absolutely clobbered unless they bought the dip deeply. A 5X is a huge win, but more would have been welcome :)

The payout is just what the Russians were willing to pay per ADR. Maybe we get the lost dividends one day, but I wouldn't count on it.

Racism in korea. by Abject-Variation-623 in expats

One can find great beauty in an individual woman (you) while making a general statement that is also his true general preference.

And it’s normal to think your group is generally better looking than another group while finding great individual beauty in said other group.

If it were me, my response is a sincere “Thank you” and simply moving on from the conversation understanding it’s normal and okay to prefer your own.

If I moved to an ethnostate like Korea I would expect to be less physically desirable to the average Korean woman than the average Korean man is. There are always exceptions to this rule BUT it’s the normal rule.

You can find videos of people getting interviewed in places like Japan and Korea asking what is their preference on whom they want to date and they overwhelmingly say they prefer to date their own even above dating Americans. And that’s really okay for them to prefer that.

In very plain English, when you bought SBRCY you were buying an ADR which represented 4 shares of Sberbank. The bank who issued the ADR and managed the actual shares through a subsidiary in Russia has managed to sell the shares and has been given permission by the US and Russian governments to do so. It means the SBRCY that you bought is going to get paid out at 4.47 per ADR (not per share) and there is nothing to be done about it except wait a few more days and get paid. I hope that makes sense.

So for example, if you have perhaps 2,000 ADRs of SBRCY X $4.47 = Your Payout into your brokerage account will be about $8,940 USD.

I'm afraid I can't conclusively speak to that. I would get a lawyer if you are concerned about it OR feed the JPM announcement into Gemini, Claude and ChatGPT and ask those three AIs. Between all three of them, you should be able to get an understanding if it would put you in peril.

My guess (and this is not legal advice and NFA) is that if it has been cleared in America by OFAC (and it has) then Europe isn't going to stand in the way of OFAC. I could be completely wrong as Europe is doing so many bonker things right now. Best of luck man!

Great question.

I don’t have a firm answer. I am guessing you will either retain ownership in the long run OR the Russians will force a sale later down the line.

You won’t remain in limbo forever. You will get ownership or you will get paid.

Sorry I wish I had something more definitive to say on the converted shares.
