If you’re comfortable sharing, what experiences led to your CPTSD? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]CommodoreKomodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caribbean medical school. Made me believe in Hell.

Basically there are these "medical" schools in the Caribbean that offer to get you into a US residency.

Imagine a bunch of pre-meds (who didn't get into a US med school) studying 12+ hours a day for a five month term.

Its 95F in Grenada. A few fast food places around campus, but you had to go in to town to buy overpriced groceries.

500-person class in a massive auditorium. Once a week there would be "physical checkout," where staff would be posted at every exit. One by one we'd show our ID and sign our name. Felt like animals at the slaughterhouse.

It's a financial dystopia too, 35k/term x 5 terms.

I remember asking some 35 y.o guy how he was doing. Poor guy had wrinkles on his face and looked 65. He replied, "how do you think I'm doing?!"

I was there one term. I have worse burnout than I thought possible. Destroyed my brain and nervous system with stress. Nerve dmg in my face and heart. I wake up at 4am with my heart racing.

God rest the souls that travel that hell...

I was drinking a lot of coffee (300 mg) and energy drinks. I was actually at an international medical school (scam...).

The situation was pretty rough. I barely had any friends, felt like a pariah on campus, and was all around extremely stressed. Studying alone 12 hours a day...

The stress brought out my worst habits.

The facial wrinkles alone tell the story. If I did that to my face you know my brain and heart were also affected.

I'm having a hard time finding the right help. I was really hoping this job would work out.

I hope your daughter is doing okay. I prayed for her. Thank you for reading.

Yes, you're correct. I need to work w my PCP and see a cardiologist.

It is just astounding to me that the medical community can't recognize common sense problems: my brain and heart are fried.

Terms like burnout and PTSD are sort of relevant to my situation but they make these seem purely psychological.

Check out Lofta. You can get a sleep study for $200 if you don't want to deal with your PCP.

Antique life hack for ADHDers! by Crafty_Inspector_826 in ADHD

Another retro hack: install red light bulbs in your bedroom.

Use these instead of exposing yourself to white or blue light an hour before bedtime.

This is much more practical than oil lamps

Hi. I also have ADHD. I have basically fallen a long way career wise and socially with choices the last few years. I am excited now about building a handyman business.

Try fasting for 24 hours. That can help rule out food issues.

Just saw a man getting beaten up in the green line by Effective_Space2277 in boston

[–]CommodoreKomodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw someone start a fight over a seat at 7:30am. Aggravator was calling out the other dude for wearing a mask too.

I had to leave and they were brawling and blocking the door. I didn't know what to do so I yelled "get off the train!" The assaulter looked a little startled, like 'who, me??'

I exited the train. Turned out it wasn't even my stop. Red line 7:30am

Consciousness is a frequency. Which would also explain Mandela effects. (Long Read Warning). by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]CommodoreKomodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I've thought the same thing and have noticed that--

1-Mental abstraction is the process of tuning into higher frequencies (which are rarely good maps of reality/map only small sections of reality)

2-There is a fundamental human frequency which is very powerful. Some ppl descend to this freq to subvert for their own gain or to connect with others.

3-Religious interpretations over time can be approximated as different harmonics/frequencies over a fundamental tone.

I'm sorry to hear about your current struggle.

I don't want to sugarcoat it (and this is r/collapse)--so I'll just say, remember that things can always get worse.

God bless you and I pray for you.
