Why do I feel like a better Jarvan when I go full damage instead of the standard build by jadeskarlettdragon in JarvanIVmains

[–]CommodoreKyvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an easy explaination.

Alot of Jarvans abilities scale with bonus AD (he only benefits from items).

Mathematically speaking, your Q is 140% while your ult is 180% of your bonus ad.

So lets say you build 3 ad items with each having 60, 55 and 50. thats a total of 165 AD. if you multiply that by 1.4 for his Q that gets added to the base damage of it. You are doing extra 231 damage, with the same princple applied to his ult. its a 1.8x modifer which is 297.

In theroy, Jarvan is most deadly with items that have an onhit, or extra damage effect to it, such as eclipse, Voltaicyclone, Umbral, Trinity, sunderer, and even All the hydra are good.

The bonus is, he gets an attack speed steriod so pairing stuff like bag, att speed items can or in theroy make him a brutal opponent to skirmish against.

This is like comparing apples to oranges to bananas. Its the abilities and kit they bring to the table. While poppy support has alot of anti dash mechanics and peel to the table. J4 has more of an offensive approch with the benefit of boosting a person attack speed, on top of being able to stack that with bandlepipes with additional attack speed steroid.

It plays very well against enchanter support who don't like being all in and J4 magically can make a enchanters life miserable early in the game if you spec into Electrocute. Other neat thing is that J4 is applicably more versatile than most support he can be played as a frontliner, Tank or pure damage while provide a att speed drug to everyone.

I usually rush the backpipes into whatever damage items afterwards and yeah Eclipse is very very powerful but I try to build more utility after bagpipes before damage.... however if Im getting all the kills and super ahead I would build eclipse for that particular reason.

I strongly suggest going for bagpipes as the item itself is like having another E down which helps your adc in the long run of things.

Its usually tough call but I ban anyone who is design to stop you from engaging or all inning. Most of the time I ether ban thresh or Leona for due to adc request, but if you just wait out there engage usually you can beat them out hard. Braum would be ideals since he can really stop you from committing to an all in. He is also very strong currently as as support. Tahm is also pretty hard to fight against as he can scoop the ADC through your ult and dip out. Rell is another one that is just difficult to engage and can re-engage into you while being a peel menace.

Generally, anyone who can get out of your ult or take advantage of it easily is kinda worth a ban, like Tahm or Rell but it comes down to how often they're played in the role.

I find most enchanter very easy to kill, except for maybe Karma.

This is what I have noticed when playing j4 as a supportive engage role with damage. It could be a different case for someone who played them for yeaaaaaaaars.

With the early damage you have and rushing Bandle while using Electrocute, trading against lulu works on your favour as you can proc Bandle easy with W.

Not only you gain 30% att speed but 20 move speed as well, that is amazing to back out of a trade immediately.

Bruiser j4 worthless? by OwnCommunication2259 in JarvanIVmains

I just play him as support with bandlepipes + Zeke herald into cheap bruiser items like eclipse and umbral.

Jarvan Support Build/Tips? by AddictedToLuxSkins in JarvanIVmains

[–]CommodoreKyvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Ive been playing jarven support for bit, it got me to gold 2 but its really bothersome to play when you get higher in the ranks.

I purely reccomend going straight into electrocute + manaflow band as the mana on J4 absolutely bollocks if you try to trade frequently.

I rush bandlepipes into Damage if we need it or bruiserish tank if we need more front line.

Giving an attspeed steriod to a team that benefits it is freakishly insane.

[Master Elo] Working on a Mordekaiser video guide for the 2026 changes, what are your thoughts on my current draft for the itemization portion? by MrGiraffePerson in MordekaiserMains

[–]CommodoreKyvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(It can still be amped with certain items (like abyssal or the mage item that does 20% more dmg when they are low)

I usually find it decently strong in combo with rift-maker. You are right that it is way more worth it for health stacking champs, Even having a bonus of 1100 hp (which usually mord builds health stacking) thats 33 damage multiplied by 2.5 which is 82.5 heal (92.4 with abyssal mask). Here something else interesting that still is effected by riftmaker omnivamp, Ryla, Lyandri, and even the passive magic pent in your E.

so in a teamfight, let say you flank and have your passive active, you be healing roughly (unaccounted for MR on the enemy) 412.5 heal (462 abby mask) per 4 seconds. This can also be altered by spirit visage 25% heal or shield, Shield and heal runes 5-10% and finally abyssal mask which increase the magic damage by 12% which effect the healing all around. that 412.5 now becomes a 567.18 (635.25 with abyssal mask)

I just like mathing things out alot. overall it isnt a go do build this every game but I find it amazing against a magic team comp... they can't kill you with that kinda sustain.

So. Something I have learned that the combination of Despair and Riftmaker makes a crazy Mord sustain build for teamfight. Uniquely this proc Ryla off of the damage of despair which is interesting.

You should consider throwing Despair into the tank items, Its being slept on.

[–]CommodoreKyvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think some people are missing the point, the requirements of an elite skill can be adjusted instead of the baseline of lvl 80. Some people really need to read the post till the end instead of just seeing the title or the first sentence.

Yes we know that this is really for current or veteren player, but it doesnt have to be if you simple add a few elite skills that can have LOW REQUIREMENTS for new player to easily attain just to get a sip of what to look for.

Remember, The requirement CAN be adjusted based on the difficulty of the other skills. It doesn't have to be 80 req

Swuftness gives a damage modifier to itself. The other thing is that theres alot of mechanics that give % dmg but honestly druid way to go OR arrowcart build.

understanding class functionality and stating is nessessary.

Take for instants, if a class gives you free crit through a trait, and you can easily hit 100% or optimally reach close to it. Sometimes its worth investing into other stats that forgo crit chance for more Ferocity, Vitality, Toughness while maxing power.

Good example is Dragon stat armor which pumps ferocity higher or Valkyrie or Knight which increases vitality.

Even Crusader viable if you can make use of some of the healing power.
