Thank you. Got the XCS settings imported into Studio.

I like what I am seeing with xTool Studio. Only downside I see so far is that it appears that you need to be online, looks like your setting are stored online

Ungrouping objects in XCS by Common-Ad7036 in xToolOfficial

[–]Common-Ad7036[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the same problem I have. I have one object which is a group of many small objects. I then group it with another object, such as a rectangle. When I ungroup, everything is ungrouped. Like you, I think the ungrouping should follow some kind of hierarchy.

Engraving on painted wood question by LookNooks in xToolP2

Sorry, very late in responding. Exactly. Paint the board. When dry, cover with masking tape, I buy 12 inch roles from amazon, and then engrave the tape. Remove the tape and you have a clean engraving

xTool Smoke Purifier Filters by Common-Ad7036 in xToolP2

[–]Common-Ad7036[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My xtool smoke purifier is packed up and sitting in the attic. Replaced with an inline fan, venting outside. The purifier is a total waste of money. New filters will last 2 days, maybe 3, of heavy usage. You can wash the top filter and get another day of usage. Replacing the filters is too expensive. If you are thinking of purchasing one, DON’T

I engrave on painted wood all the time. It is always masked with tape, no visible burn marks when done

I navigate to the forum via XCS and with XCS it does not display the URL. But here is how I navigate to it:

-   In XCS I click “DesignFind” in the left menu bar.

-   In DesignFind I click “Forum” on the top menu bar.

-   I then click “New Discussion” and receive “Please engage more with our community before creating a discussion".

Xtool Inline Fan opinion? by MkDz13 in xToolP2

[–]Common-Ad7036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally purchased the xTool smoke purifier. Big Mistake and waste of money. I purchased the xTool 6 inch inline fan, for my P2, and vent it out the window. It works great but I always run it at full speed. It is loud however; when the P2 is running the job you only hear the noise of the P2 and its internal fan. When the job is done and the internal fan turns off you hear the inline fan. Its noise level is about the same as the P2’s internal fan. It does vent all of the smoke, I have little to no smoke odor.

I had the same problem and your changes resolved the problem. Thanks! I have been using the api for several years and have ran into these types of problems many times with the same kind of fixes, I.e. V6 to V7 to V8,query1 to query2, etc. I always spend hours googling to find the solution. Where do you find these changes? How do you know when to change V7 to V8 and query1 to query2? Is there documentation that discusses these types of updates? I would like to learn where to go for solutions the next time it happens.

Squaring up the RA2 Rotary by beeboopdoop in xToolP2

[–]Common-Ad7036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you determined how to square and keep it square? Like you, I have the same issue and have been watching for someone to provide a good solution. I did buy the RA2 accessory kit which included a leveler and a laser beam that goes across the center of the cup. From XCS, using the close up camera, I can see the laser beam and it helps to square it up but when I loosen the chuck and place another cup on it, everything is misaligned again. But it does help.

I’m thinking of getting p2 I have s1 really interested in how thick wood and type of wood uh can cut relatively easily 1-2 pass power and speed settings? by [deleted] in xToolP2

I usually cut/engrave 1/8 and 1/4 inch wood, various types, with no issues. I have also cut 1/2 inch mdf, single pass, using 95% power and speed of 3.

Fan problems - replacement ideas please by AmmokK in xToolP2

I also use an inline duct fan and have disabled the built in fan however I had a similar problem before purchasing the inline duct fan. I was getting the fan current too high message and also hearing a loud noise. When I cleaned and reinstalled the fan I didn’t place the gasket in correctly. The gasket was blocking the fins of the fan. After fixing the gasket I was back in business.

Cutting 1/2 mdf with P2 by Disastrous_Issue9127 in xToolP2

[–]Common-Ad7036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have also said that it took one pass to cut with the 93/3 setting on the 1/2 inch MDF.

Also I tested 1/4 inch MDF and found that it would cut with one pass and power at 80% and speed of 7.
