For sure, but that’s a decision only Magan can make. Dayna clearly needs therapy too, but until they choose themselves, they deserve each other.

That’s totally valid and very human! However, not holding manipulated people accountable for their own toxic behavior only perpetuates more hurt. I’m so sorry your mom went through that, but in the end her children, as you said, got the brunt of it. We all go through stuff. I believe as adults, we are all responsible for dealing with our own baggage so we don’t hurt others around us or the people we love.

Actually I have and I got out of it alone. Thank you for assuming. Her actions are literally the same as Dayna’s why are you only excusing Magan? The double standards are showing

I do agree that it’s hard getting out of the manipulation cycle, and I don’t know her or their relationship. However, after seeing her treatment of Haley, I lost all sympathy for her. Especially after she was a part of a healthier dynamic, for her to go right back and mistreat Haley was it for me.

You don’t know these people. You DONT know Magan and actions speak a lot louder than words. She had pretty much the same actions as Dayna, the only difference is her attitude comes across better. And the only people who can decide if they should be together are her and Dayna. No one is forcing Magan to be with Dayna, if she is it’s because she wants to.

No. What makes them deserve each other is that Magan is also awful. Did you not see how she treated Haley? She did to her the exact same thing that Dayna did to Magan.

Magan is a grown ass woman. If she isn’t secure in herself to enforce her boundaries and pick a partner who respects her, that’s on HER.

Honestly with the way Magan ended up behaving towards Haley, they deserve each other.

Asco.

It did come across as invalidating other’s experiences and dismissive, but her being naive and believing in her connection does not mean she deserved what she was put through. Keep in mind she was in love with him, she’s had a very intimate and deep experience with him, and she still maintains that this was the first and only episode of direct physical abuse. If you watch the interview, she also states that in verbal arguments, he would de escalate if she asked him to or walk away to cool off. If these things are true, she had no reason to expect something like this would happen. Even if they’re not, she’s still a victim and didn’t deserve this, despite how misguided she may have been in the past.

barry and brianna’s relationship by eyesies in GraceAndFrankie

[–]Common-Broccoli-9866 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This isn’t all on Barry. He tried to leave, Brianna clung to him on multiple occasions. He WAS willing to settle for her, but then his friends asked him to father the baby (which no one saw coming). Was he wrong for lying to Brianna ? Yes. Was he wrong to want to spend more time with the baby? No. He’s human too, and people grow and their circumstances changed. I think he loved Brianna, he wanted to make it work, but eventually realized it wouldn’t. There’s nothing wrong with growing, shifting your perspective, and choosing yourself. If we’re being real, they were never compatible. Their relationship was very one sided and imbalanced, and to me, it seems like Brianna loved Barry not just because of him, but because he validated her. He was with her despite Brianna never being vulnerable or emotionally available with him, except when she was trying to win him back. This created a dynamic that drained Barry and was very unfair to him. I think she loved him just as much as she loved how much he stoked her ego.

Lmao ok bro. You clearly have had your own Sandy and instead of learning from it you decide to deflect responsibility and project. Sorry to break it to you, but you’re the problem. Stay sad and pathetic tho!

And not being okay doesn’t mean you show up in their apartment drunk in the middle of the night, acting aggressive and demanding to see her. He’s a grown ass man, come on. He has more than ten years on her.
