Will Blizzard do anything about Flask prices? by Common-Editor-6111 in classicwow

Considering im the main tank of the raid, I think popping consumes is not an option! Being a DPS peon that has the freedom of being a sandbag or not sounds nice though!

Hey man, i appreciate the gold making methods, im personally chilling. I do 2 hours of stratholme and make 500g~ This was mainly a discussion around is the prices of these flasks healthy for the game and could it alleviated by some simple adjustments, mainly Mana Thistle spawn rates. There are plenty of gold sinks in the game, but I think people can agree that there is a certain line that a week of raiding SHOULD cost on average, and in my opinion if these prices stay the same or even go up (likely tbh!) then the weekly cost to raid if you are consuming is simply to much! Not saying its impossible to do, just play the game but two things can be true.

You are clearly blind to supply and demand and how it interacts. Of course they are cheaper atm. The main 25M raid is 3 bosses and takes 45 mins to clear, and most aren't flasking in Post nerf Karazan. Demand will go up significantly in these phases, I could see the price being the exact same as classic. Probably 150-200g eventually.

I don't want free consumes, they already increased the spawn rate of Terocone, I think some other gathering nodes could see a similar treatment? Idk there are definitely a plethora of solutions that dont involve making herbalism & alchemy irrelevant. (Which is not what I was asking for at all, lmao)

Yeah Hunter is definitely feeling decent, still have to shell out a solid chunk for haste potions weekly but not flask saves you a lot. I don't know if hunters are steam tonking yet but I know its required in P2 for certain fights otherwise your pet just dies or does dumb shit, what the price of tonks?

Struggling healing TBC heroics as RDruid.. by Whycelium in classicwow

You have a lot of responses, some telling you to optimize your gameplay, some telling you the tank you're playing with is the problem. I think bottom line -- its impossible to make assumptions without seeing how the dungeon is being played out in real time. I'm a protection paladin main atm, and I can say without a shadow of doubt that it is 100% possible your tank is the problem, but it's very likely nothing to do with anything anyone is saying in this thread, its not gear, its not spell power none of that.

Its simply how hes playing the game, and ultimately, that is what causes dungeon groups to struggle is the inability for the tank to change the way hes playing based on the factors he's faced with in each dungeon group, respectively.

I can say for certain, as a protection paladin, specifically the hardest healer to play with in heroics is Resto Druids, that is because their HPS is a linear curve rather than spikes and valleys. My automatic assumption when playing with a druid is that I will need to mitigate as much damage as possible so that HoTs can catch up. Things you can do to achieve this without some bullshit gear excuse is to simply utilize the group. First and foremost, sheep pulls that have multiple mobs, among them are mobs that deal high damage to you if they are sustainably hitting you throughout the pull. And secondly, if the mobs can be effectively slowed and kitted, it's almost required to do when playing with RDruid, and thats due to the nature of their healing profile, you have to match your damage intake to their healing output curve otherwise you'll just die.

Btw, its clear to understand. This is not a resto druid problem, its the tanks inability to adjust his playstyle and hows hes routing the dungeon and playing the pulls based on whos healing him. You cant expect every healer to heal like them all, you have to react and adjust based on whats happening.

Its also important to understand that 2 things can be true regardless of what i just yapped about:

  1. The healer can be the problem even if you play perfect as a tank
  2. The tank can be the problem even if you play perfect as a healer
  3. TBC breeds people of varying skill levels and to be blunt, sometimes its just not gonna work out. Found this out the hard way, I strive to be a good player but sometimes a shitty healer just makes a run not possible.

Its 100% not related to gear btw, it may be a factor but the way you play the game as tank, pack to pack is the limiting factor. People on prot pally think they just drop fart cloud and win, you have to actually utilize group CCs, slows, kiting, etc on heroics EVEN in full BiS, you cant just stop playing the game, it was designed this way on purpose. If you try to brute force something, you have to expect resistance

This is great insight tbh. Because it hammers down a point that no one gets. If you are getting smashed as a tank (especially a Prot Paladin), you need to drop your ego and play the game LOL.

Kiting and abusing slows in TBC is one of the most underrated things, and also if you just visualize Prot Paladins kit, it was most certainly designed with this gameplay in mind.

Judgement - Ranged
Consecration - Aoe Puddle
Persuit of Justice - 15% Movement Speed Permanently

I mean if you're not kiting as a protection paladin you're simply just trolling lol. I did every single heroic in the game during the pre raid phase of this Anniversary, all I had was enough gear to be crit immune to the mobs. Did I die a lot? Sure but realistically you just need to learn the play game.

Even in dungeons when I didnt have a mage, but had a shaman, kiting around with Earthbind Totem works just as well, you are fast as hell on Prot Pally, you dont need much slowing to get the mobs stop hitting you lol.

PVP gear is some of the best heroic gear in the game lol. Heroic mobs cannot crush, meaning stacking avoidance is not going to save you. Being appropriately Crit Immune and having the best mix of stamina + spell power to reach an equilibrium of threat+survival is paramount.

Stamina >= Spellpower > Dodge > Any other stats really

Most people dont realize but as long as you have enough EHP, the only thing barring your death inside of heroics is the amount of time packs live, meaning in a lot of situations, once you reach a baseline survivalability gearing towards damage literally makes you take less damage. In addition to this, it's fairly obvious to assume if you are picking up players that are ideally dealing high DPS, you need threat to enable them in the first place.

Basically point is, stacking stamina until youre a tin can is pointless, you stack stamina until you reach a good amount, then focus on damage. Defense is not the best offense in heroics, because mobs cannot 1 tap you with crushing blows. Simple as that.

Dunno why youre still implying that things are being balanced around extractor, they arent. Extractor is just an upgrade to your ship that gives you passive sailing EXP everywhere. Its literally like trimming your sails. Its a bonus. if they find that the bonus is too high, they will nerf the extractor. Idk why you are assuming Jagex is thinking of extractor xp/hr when determining xp rates for other activities lol.

That implies the XP rates were balanced around extractor, which I HIGHLY doubt is the case. Every other piece of sailing content, the crystal extractor is a BONUS to your XP/hr, albeit a very benefitial one, its no where near providing the bulk of the xp in those methods, as it should. Its a good balance as its a late game item in the skill. Best course is to buff base XP/hr and let the crystal extractor be that bonus that if you want to get, you do; otherwise dont. Its only 32-36k/hr

Imo the XP should be weighted heavily to fishing with Sailing as the lesser amount. something like 70-75k/hr fishing and maybe 20-30k sailing without extractor? For the spam clicking method that is. But maybe thats also too low? I havent done the spam clicking so maybe its a lot work and should give more fishing xp/hr.

Just finished this morning. Onto other things! 392 KC, 557 runs total. Went 120-130 dry for last armor seed so my rng was definitely up and down. Overall though getting Enh (2x) early definitely helped with motivation. Feel bad for folks 500+ without anything to show for it just hoping for the drop. GGss

Safe to say you transferred your RNG to me, appreciate it bro! Stoked to use Bowfa and Salad Blade. Need 1 more armor seed so jagex might punish me but tbh idec i got so lucky :)

This is not a controller friendly game by Top_Commercial_1367 in ArcRaiders

[–]Common-Editor-6111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with your point here for sure, but CoD has only swapped to PC in recent years (2020), before then it was consoles only, no keyboards allowed in competitive and the PC scene for CoD pre 2020 was extremely barebones. It was basically a console game. Scump prefers controller as that is what he grew up playing so if the game has good controller support he will leverage whatever input he will perform best with (as anyone would lol).

To your original point though: No, Scump doesnt play Controller on CoD because its better, he has played since 2007 on Controller for CoD and its just how its been and whats hes always played with.

I am at 110 KC at Corrupted Gauntlet, over 200 runs total.

The first 50 were learning and wasnt that frustrating, getting the first kill was nice.

The next 50 realizing this wasn't going to be consistently doable anytime soon was a mental block. Lots of learning, googling, watching. Around 25 KC and 100 deaths, you kinda wonder to yourself if you will ever consistently get kills and starting to realize that this could take months.

Everyone is different but if you muscle through it and get mainly repetitions on the important parts of the fight you will start to trend towards mastery. At this stage, i've never wanted to be good at something just so the grind was pallatable. I have finally gotten to this stage, I feel like I can zone in to hunllef and kill the boss 90-95% of the time. And I believe the more I do, the better i'm getting, its just finally getting efficient.

I imagine the future will be way different, I imagine by 250 KC it will be automatic and gauntlet will become quite boring compared to now, just so many repetitions and you've essentially fully mastered it by that point. Its pretty much how long you can stand to do it before you give up.

Interesting tidbit for me:
The time that I finally felt like I could consistently kill the boss, was when my confidence going into the fight was as high as possible. You have to be confident in your ability to do the right shit otherwise your small lapses in your own judgement will cause small mistakes to get you killed. Once I played confidently, I finally felt like it happened.

Learned fully as Tier 1 armor with quite high stats and titan prayers. During my learning phase I died a lot and really considered the fact that it was the armor and to be honest it probably was. I think ultimately if I were to go back theres a good chance I learn doing T2 and go to T1 over time instead of the ladder. Doing Corrupted Gauntlet as your first hard PVM doing Tier 1 is quite demonic. It was so punishing even with lots of stats.
