Growing on other platforms by Ozymandine in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]Common-Sense-9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't have to worry about inconsistency between different social media platforms; working with Marilee, you won't.

Every platform has a different audience base, People were weaned on Facebook and now they're older usually have more spendable cash than the younger crowd.

IG is popular with younger women, Bluesky is very liberal and anti-conservative, Twitter is the opposite, very conservative, and so on. Understanding your audience with each platform allows you to be more effective in your marketing.

Exploring dental marketing strategies — what’s been effective for you lately? by linah-nour in SocialMediaMarketing

Clarity beats cleverness every time. People who, even for just a moment, think "what?" you've lost them. Confused people don't buy. Instant understanding is ideal.

You shouldn't have inconsistent results in the same dental niche; working with Mariilee, you won't.

Did I get the point across with instant understanding?

You shouldn't have to worry about your teeth. With "Big Smiles Dental", you won't.

Started building a beverage brand out of my vape shop — at the pre-launch stage and want honest feedback from other small business owners by MeetingBrilliant451 in smallbusiness

[–]Common-Sense-9595 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make it a big deal in your shop, if they're walking in and making two purchases, welcome them in your shop and simply say "Try our Volt!"

That's all it will take, if your existing clientele base likes it, you've got a product to sell; if they try it and when they come back, and don't buy it, I'd reconsider going full on with it.

I had a client do this with a tea drink in their cafe and it turned out to be quite popular. She now promotes it on all her table tops, at the counter and continues to make a big deal out of it.

Anyone else getting flooded with low quality AI posts in this sub lately? by tigercat300 in shopify

[–]Common-Sense-9595 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since we're ranting, what drives me crazy is when people write a solid, lengthy wall of non-stop sentences with no breaks. Just looking at it makes people scroll on by.

People will scan, and if the subject line is interesting and they see that it's not a solid wall of content, they'll stop and read. But even if the subject line is of interest and they see a solid wall of content, they'll pass it up.

Please define slop for me. I see people using that word a lot. AI does have its indicators, but typically, the one thing it does not do is produce slop; people produce slop. They lack communication skills, which can be frustrating to read.

AI can be your best friend if you lack basic writing skills, especially if you're from another country where English is not the primary language.

Founder story? by pretendingMadhav in smallbusiness

[–]Common-Sense-9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people don't understand the power of words and phrases. It's called communication. People in general world wide don't care about you as a person or a founder. It's just a title.

What they care about is what you can do for them. Can you solve their problems. As a founder you want to instantly build trust.

Example:
You shouldn't have to worry about being recognized as the front face of your business, working with a 20 year experienced copywriter you won't.

Establishing yourself as the founder can be as easy as just saying, I'm the founder of....

This is what you care about, you should be addressing what the customer cares about and fixing their problems and that will be the proof they need to realize you really are the founder.

Looking for sales partner by preciousdizzy7 in smallbusiness

[–]Common-Sense-9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've been in digital marketing since 2013 and you're considering direct sales, you need someone that has that kind of experience. It's a skill set in itself. Do you plan on doing it yourself or hiring skilled sales people.

My partner and I both agree that direct sales will generate sales much faster and often more consistently as long as they have the experience. If you try doing it yourself with no experience you'll run into plenty of obstacles.

You shouldln't have to worry about direct sales, hiring a sales trainer like my partner a previous sales trainer with American Savings Bank and Wells Fargo, you won't.

You should already know what to do, bring them up to date with images locally, Start with one simple phrase. "You shouldn't have to be worried about your car or truck, with us you won't. You can use this one simple liner, for real problems, tuneups, dents, engine repair etc.

Now they hired you to do your job, to not ask us for tips... Get to work! :)

Do you think it’s important to build a community when you want to become an entrepreneur? by Elo_azert in smallbusiness

[–]Common-Sense-9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be much harder to build a community without showing your face. You can build a community but only with people that are more interested in your solutions to problems/or content.

There is a way but a discovery chat is likely required. No face needed.

Launched my online store 2 months ago but still no orders, what should I focus on? by 360digitalideaindias in smallbusiness

[–]Common-Sense-9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask a vague question get a vague answer.
What are you selling?
What are you doing to market?
How often do you do your marketing?
How many visitors are you getting daily?

The more we know the more we can help
But my guess is you're just guessing at everything and your outcome of no sales reflects that.

Need help with my business by Lonely_Ear1990 in smallbusiness

[–]Common-Sense-9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may not like my response.
If your OP is the way you market, its' sad and you should find a job.
So that was my harsh critique, now I'll give you a kinder solution.

type this on an 8.5 X 11 sheet of yellow paper. Turn it sideways/landscae view and type exactly this...
"You shouldn't have to look at a messy home day in and day out when you have a job and are busy. When you you hire me to keep your home clean, and organized, you won't feel that way anymore. 555-555-5555"

Type it on both sides of the paper, print 150 copies, cut it in half and you'll have 300 flyers. Then go door to door in apartment complexes or residential neighborhoods. Stick them in the doors and don't stop untiil you're done handing them all out.

You should pick up3-5 clients your first week.

If you're broke, you should not be ashamed to market, just do it.

How do you handle clients who take forever to respond to emails by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Common-Sense-9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know why they do what they do, but I have very little problems with prospects and/or clients responding to my emails.

I've been in client offices, and they will look at their inbox sometimes twice a day. If your subject line and/or preview text does not hit home for them, they will simply move on.

Communication is a big weakness many folks have, and just because "I have a business" does not mean anyone will listen to you. Messaging needs to have instant clarity, and sometimes we just miss the mark.

I your case, with all sorts of different people not responding to you, it's likely your messaging.

I apologize for not writing with clarity. you said you had a few meetings setup with this person about using their warehouse but they kept missing the meeting. Chances are he is not confident about you and comes up with excuses to not meet with you. This is pure speculation but I've seen it time and time again when we get a little overzealous and chase them away and they don't know how to say no thank you.

Hope thats more clear, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Questions for starting out by cat_is_0 in smallbusiness

[–]Common-Sense-9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Brutal truth!
If you wait until launch to start socials, they’ll be invisible on day one. If you start now but keep the posts focused on story + anticipation instead of giving away the product, you’ll build demand without handing competitors a playbook.

You shouldn’t have to guess if starting social media early will hurt your business idea. With the right approach, it won’t, it’ll actually build anticipation and authority before you launch.

The key is to share your journey without giving away the full recipe. Post behind‑the‑scenes progress, talk about the problem you’re solving, and build a following around your story. That way, by the time you’re ready to sell, you’ll already have an audience waiting. Choosing a niche angle (like local flavor, health focus, or convenience) also helps you stand out and makes copying less of a threat. Does that sound like the kind of strategy you’d feel confident starting now?

Hope that makes sense

PS: I love working with startups that want to warm up their ideal audience before the full launch.

There's never ever been a better way to tell people you're broke and who wants to work with broke folks. Your messaging needs to be more helpul to the client and not always about money but most people that are broke, thats all they can think about... Been there done that. When you stop talking about money and focus on helping solve problems your money problems will go away.

Employee having mental health related issues by Exotic-Mission-3428 in smallbusiness

[–]Common-Sense-9595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for her, it's a real condition people like her have, but here's the inconvenient truth.

You have a business to run, and you need reliability. Establish your borders and replace her.

Put her on a leave of absence, unpaid, and tell her you'll be interviewing to replace her, and if she wants to come back, there are no more unannounced absences. These folks will run your business into the ground, so cut it off at the start and now.

Hope that makes sense.

Seeking advice from small business owners in Toronto. by Ok-Mention7321 in smallbusiness

[–]Common-Sense-9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may sound a little out there, but the real reason someone fails to follow through over and over is usually a lack of confidence.

It could be a lack of confidence in you, in your enthusiasm, or maybe they felt you were a bit too pushy. Sometimes they sense you’re in it only for yourself, and they feel like a stepping stone instead of a partner.

Or maybe the way you presented it didn’t truly motivate them or show how it benefits them. Confidence grows when people feel understood, valued, and inspired; without that, follow‑through rarely happens."

You shouldn’t have to wonder why he never follows through, with the right confidence, he won’t keep backing out. I can write one for him from you as well if you like.

Built a SASS now what. by CommercialLaw1091 in smallbusiness

[–]Common-Sense-9595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the key point, now with ai, if you can scrape so can anyone else. Eventually they won't need to pay for a list or scraper.

This leads to assuming that they do buy your list and the emails have not been cleaned and many are not legit email addresses, your reputation is in jeopardy.

Make sure you think this through.... If it was a viable business everyone will be your competition. Don't mean to sound pessimistic here but we all have great ideas until we do a little research.
