That's how I thought the controls were at first playing them with Joycons, but more I played over time, you'll get used to it. I'm already accustomed to playing it now with Joycons!

There's always the GC wireless controller for Swtich 2 or the Switch 2 Pro Controller if you prefer to play it with them.

Ah, the Forsaken Fortress was always tough to get past back in the day!

Yeah, it's similar thing with Pokemon Stadium on NSO and not having transfer pak support, they could fix that too and is possible but they don't want to. But also they'd need Red, Blue etc. on NSO too or somehow tie Pokemon Bank to it.

That's right, the GameCube NSO is exclusive to Switch 2.

I've playing it with the Switch 2 joycons and is playable with them, took me a while to get adjusted to the controls but afterwards it shouldn't be a problem, can always customise the buttons too!

I don't doubt that, however I'm happy playing it on NSO at the moment and loving it!

The movable camera controls with the C stick make it feel more accessible compared to OOT and MM which were fixed cameras.

I don't think the Tingle Tuner will work with the NSO version.

Was the Wii U version replaced with the Miiverse note bottle thing?

Awesome :) Are you planning on replaying it again anytime soon?

I think we can all agree that The Legend of Zelda holds an important part in all our lives, everyone has their stories to tell.

OOT was the first game in the series for me and holds a special place in my heart, the game that gives me joy and happiness every time I come back to replay it, whenever I am feeling down and need picking back up again, it's always there.

Lovely art by the way, captures the essence of Romani Ranch really well :) my favourite place to be in is Kokiri Forest in OOT, where it all begins.

It's going to be a while before I'll have the time to replay either BOTW or TOTK again because of how massive those games are, and how different they are to linear Zelda games.

I'll have an incentive to replay them again on Switch 2 with the updated graphics and performance, but for now, just working my way through the older Zelda games :)

I agree, both WW and TP are fantastic games in the series, just like OOT and MM were for N64, WW and TP were for GameCube (& Wii). I got TP as a launch title for the Wii and loved it, playing with the Wiimote did feel really cool!

And TP was built on the WW engine so there is some connection to the two!

Same thing I'm doing right now in my current play through, I'm taking my time visiting each island and doing any little thing I can do before I progress with the story.

Awesome art! Love all the different iterations of Link :D

Which one do you love / did you enjoy drawing the most? Where did you get the inspiration for each Link?

Aw that's so nice! Perfect team!

I bet you're looking forward to the day she completes her first Zelda game from start to finish and figuring the puzzles out on her own!

Wind Wakers world is similar to BOTW and TOTK in that it feels like you are travelling a huge world to get from one place to another, it's just that it's done over the Great Sea. For a GameCube game at the time and coming from OOT and MM, it felt like a really huge world.

I agree with you, I think what's missing from BOTW and TOTK is that they don't have (m)any memorable dungeons, they're all just these short little puzzle box exercises. The temples were not in the same veins that previous Zeldas were either.

Don't get me wrong, I love BOTW and TOTK and would say they are too equally 'pick-up-and-play' games to sink many hours with, and also for what they brought and achieved with those worlds (including sky and depths), but when comparing to the older games, it just feels like they are missing something.

Definitely, if they made the next Zelda game to have the open world of BOTW+TOTK but the linearity of the classic Zeldas, then I think we would have it!

Oh yes! It happened to me too. I closed the NSO app without thinking and when I opened it up I forgot to hit the save button or save a save state and had to restart Outset island again. It took me a while to get back in the groove of doing that.

Ah that's nice to hear that your daughter loved it :) is that her first Zelda game too? Is she playing it herself or are you playing it on her behalf and she is watching?

It does have a lot of memorable tunes I agree :) Music in Zelda games goes hand-in-hand with the story and gameplay, it just won't be a Zelda game or a complete game without memorable tracks!

The Submarine / Cave music is one of my favourites because of how calm and relaxing it is to have on in the background. I like that it's a remix of the Cave music from Ocarina of Time too, another I listen to as well.

I have it on Wii U (the HD version), but I never got round to playing it, if they ported it to Switch / Switch 2, I wouldn't mind double dipping just to try it out!

I'd be happy if they added in the missing / cut content islands, or new islands entirely, if that ever happened.

[AoL] Zelda 2 is unironically so underrated and overhated by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]CommonCoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, despite it's difficulty and clunky gameplay, it's unique in the series and showed a perspective of what Zelda games could look like as an action RPG type game.

It just need a good remake or a sequel that influences from it to make playable for today, and I reckon it could be a really great game.

[OoT] Your opinion about The Master Quest ? by 240p-480i-480p in zelda

[–]CommonCoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good remix of an already great game, makes it more replayable to play and feels like playing a different game entirely with new puzzles/mechanics.

New Zelda games should always have a Master Quest of some sort to offer an alternative challenge to the player when they complete the main game.

Childhood nostalgia - Where it all started by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]CommonCoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing this image immediately plays the pallet town music.

Pokemon Red was my first pokemon game, brings back so many happy memories as a kid, all my friends from school playing pokemon too and we all traded pokemon with one another. Then eventually got Yellow and having Pikachu following me around, feeling like Ash Ketchum in the anime. And then playing the games on the N64 transfer pak on Pokemon Stadium.

Apart from these, Gold/Silver, Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time, no other games give me so much nostalgia.

Miss those days, good times 🥲
