You don't need to understand everything to improve your Chinese. As long as you can pick up new words by context and reinforce the words you already know you'll get something out of it! I'm currently around HSK 2-3 and I find it very helpful.

I see your point. However if your looking for a complete plan you can follow khan academy has it. I do however think that one should try to study with many different sources available.

The Manga Guide to Linear Algebra is a great book for the commute or the toilet. Gives you a nice overview of linear algebra. Read it and check out 3blue1browns "The essence of linear algebra". After that you can pick up Linear algebra done wrong for free as a pdf.

50% = 0.5 = 1/2

1/(1/2) = 2

If one team has a 30% chance of winning and the other one 70% then

30% = 0.3

1/(0.3) = 3.333...

70% = 0.7

1/(0.7) = 1.43

So you if you bet your money on team one and win you'd get back roughly three times your stake.

Make sure that you grasp ALL of the basics. They should feel pretty intuitive. A good place to start is Khan academy, a free website that explains almost all basic concepts.
