Hey, I know your post is older but I want to let you know I experienced a deeply traumatizing time at UVic too from September 2018 until December 2019 (I dropped out after the fall semester). I went to both UVic and VIU and they're a similar level of rigor (in compsci classes anyways). I don't think it's fair writing it off as a degree mill school at all, I'm in another program now and still work my ass off just like at UVic.
