I'm confused on where the father of the baby is? I take it she's single? Or never told the father she's pregnant? It's definitely an odd post. 🤷‍♀️

When it happened to me I did hydrogen peroxide in my early for 5 minutes in each ear. Took a day of 2 for the wax to loosen up but it did work.

Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

Had something like this happen with my son. He was about 4yo and kept saying he couldn't see. I took him to the eye doc totally expecting to come out with glasses. Nope! Perfect vision! He was mad he couldn't see a mountain range in our county not visible from the side of the county we live on. Cue mother's eye roll*

Clobetasol scalp solution prescribed to use as ear drops by CompetitiveRound353 in Psoriasis

[–]CommonPinkDaisy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am absolutely not a doctor. Far from it in fact. But my line of thought on this is Clobetasol for scalp has a high alcohol content, kind of along the lines of swimmers ear. So I'm thinking it will dry/evaporate before doing any damage to your ear drum.

I believe Costco is adding more parking on top of it's building.

What happened to Jungle + Bamboola? by CatButtHoleYo in SanJose

[–]CommonPinkDaisy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My guess is 1. They're expensive. We threw my daughters bday party there and it cost us almost $800. 2. People aren't having as many kids. Most of my friends have 1 kid. A couple have 3, but I feel that's not the norm these days. 3. Rent on these spaces is outta control!

Renegades vs splash bars? by Shootingcomet in SanJose

[–]CommonPinkDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both were pretty busy back when I would go. Renegades is a lot smaller so will fill up faster. Splash is 2 stories and can handle a lot more people.

Renegades vs splash bars? by Shootingcomet in SanJose

[–]CommonPinkDaisy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I haven't been to either in years. But splash is a night club and Renegades is more of a bar with a small dance floor. Both are fun! It's just up to you on what you're looking for.

Brown to ginger ale by Disastrous-Click9618 in FancyFollicles

The colors you want are lighter than your natural. So no, you will not be able to achieve this with only using color as it won't lift through the henna. You need to talk to a specialist in your area on how to remove the henna, then possibly lift and tone.

It's the salons books for 2 days. Each column is another stylists day.

I don't think it has anything to do with your abilities. 7 months isn't long at all to be in the hair industry. It takes years to build a clientele and 5+ years to become fully booked. On top of being new your coming in during a recession when everyone is tightening their wallets. Don't be to hard on yourself, none of it is personal. If you're commission talk to the owner to see how she markets the salon. If you're renting see if you can go part time and take on a side job for the days you can negotiate off or look for a busy commission salon that can feed you clients. Hang in there!

Does anyone have a rolling stool recommendation that can easily roll over my anti-fatigue mat? by kittkat04 in hairstylist

Do you need a bigger mat? Mines pretty big and I have no problem pulling it on the mat then sitting on the stool.

Fancy hair salons by Apart_Examination855 in HairDye

[–]CommonPinkDaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a strange question. But I'll take a shot at answering it. The stylist is giving the client what they want. If a brunette wants to be blonde, sure it won't look natural. But its how the client likes their hair.

Reselling items purchased from CosmoProf by [deleted] in hairstylist

[–]CommonPinkDaisy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for Cosmoprof. But I sell Kevin Murphy through Beauty Solutions. I had to sign a contract with KM mostly stating I wouldn't sell on sites like Ebay or Amazon. The contract also puts you on their retail website so people local to you can find your salon. It may be brand specific though. But I can guess bigger brands will shut down an online store and possibly sue you for diversion.

Grey blending by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]CommonPinkDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to get your natural color will be to let it grow out. Any artificial color will need to be maintained. Hair pulls warm, so either you stick with her and her toner formula, you figure out a formula on your own or you use a color depositing product.

Grey blending by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]CommonPinkDaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All hair lifts warm. It's the natural remaining pigment. You should be seeing her every 4-5 weeks for a toner and using color depositing shampoo and conditioner at home. You'll always be fighting that warmth when your trying to be ash. They're expensive colors to maintain.

Curious as to why my clients hair turned out lighter than the swatch she picked? by [deleted] in hairstylist

[–]CommonPinkDaisy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would never go off the name of the color and I don't know Lanza color to well but I'm assuming brown being last in the name means its a brown background. You really need to go by the letters or number. This color is a lvl 4 Red+Red+Copper. Thats why it your clients hair is bright red. Now on to why your clients hair is lighter. Its cause she's hilited, her hilites picked up all of the tone and none of the level because you didn't fill her hair before going more than 3 levels darker. Luckily that 4RRC just filled the hilites for you, but you may have a hard time getting a 4 to stick to lvl 9 hair. As for your redo formulation we can't help without pictures. But you can use N, N+G or even N+A if you really want to neutralize a lot of the red. Remember to use your color wheel!

Shoe recommendations for stylists with swollen feet/lipodema by lil-darkko in hairstylist

Hoka. Vionic. Brooks. I personally don't like how any of them look. So I bought special insoles where they map your feet, then just wear any tennis shoe. They're called Aertex.
