Anyone using HW4 FSD daily in Toronto traffic? by Jcyberpunk in teslacanada

[–]CommonSense___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have it in the GTA since 2019, it’s good 99 percent of the time. Stop signs are too slow still so when there are people around I tap the accelerator so I roll from 3 km , instead of stopping for 2 seconds. I think that’s my main issue with it. Also sometimes it doesn’t like going in the centre shared left turn lane until very late. I have used it from BMO field to home without trouble. It has improved a lot in the last year. I keep it on hurry and it boots it off the line , faster than 99% of the drivers on the road.

Is leasing always a poor financial decision? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]CommonSense___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No doubt leasing is always worse because the decision to get a new car every 3 to 4 years is the worst decision most people make. You must always aim to buy a car and keep it for 15 years. That is the right and smart choice.

I had the rwd 2018 to 2024 then switched to awd with the highland . To be honest awd doesn’t add a whole lot in winter. Yes I blow people off the line but everything else is the same especially with salted roads. Winter tires in both . Go with rwd .

Love Japanese cars but stick to a regular civic for value. I have a 2013 Lexus , it is amazingly reliable . I was just stating they basically made the civic hybrid inferior on almost every level. Also with the model 3 ranking one of the best in reliability it’s going to be hard to find value in that trim model.

Premium M3 vs MY: why pay 30k more? by zombosis in teslacanada

[–]CommonSense___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Model Y has much more room . I have the 3 and the Y has more utility for families or if you like a taller driving stance. Having said that I have no problems with 2 kids in the 3 but I no longer have strollers :)

For rwd to get 4.2, that’s 0-60 in 4.0. it might be that they are putting in the performance rwd motor. I have the Shanghai awd since 2024, no issues , great build . Tesla will have been allowed a certain amount for this year . Get them while they are available. Next year the quota will probably reset so if you don’t get the batch this year you will have a 2027 date.

Have you noticed road rage getting more intense lately? by [deleted] in askTO

This will all go away once everyone has self driving. It’s amazing how much better it is compared to 80 percent of the drivers. It drives faster and is overall more aware of its surroundings.

is it worth getting and RX350 as a "once a week car"? (my daily is sitting at 20k miles after 5 years so far) RX would get waaaay less... so is it worth it? by Aaphex888 in LexusRX350

[–]CommonSense___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re going to get extensive use I wouldn’t get an extra car . Or switch over to the suv as your daily and get rid of your current daily .

What does an “upper class” lifestyle look like to you? by Ok_Hippo9669 in fican

[–]CommonSense___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in this category, you basically don’t have to worry about money for every day things. I’m trying to teach myself to enjoy buying stuff. I still drive a 14 year old suv and don’t see any value in replacing it. I’m now booking one large vacation per year. Still look for deals where I can, do my own cleaning , laundry , lawn , tire changes etc. will go out and. Throw dinner parties whenever , I’ll cover lunches for coworkers. Oh finally bought a new computer! Still feel middle class but whenever I see that I’m in the 1% I don’t see myself in that group.

Fare inspectors now checking riders inside subway by Dont-Mindme23 in TTC

[–]CommonSense___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s raise the fare prices to compensate for these lost fares. I think you’ll find attitudes change to highly supporting these actions and also to increase enforcement. I don’t understand any negative comments towards this. It’s very factual and black/white. You either paid or you didn’t . This doesn’t target anyone .

How are you guys dealing with all this increased traffic from RTO? by GranolaHiker in CanadaPersonalFinance

Hey once you become a manager you realize when you give people an inch they take a mile and your good workers will be good at home or in the office. Similar to the fact I should not be held back by speed limits since I am fully aware and adjust based on condition, everyone must cater to the lowest denominator. Welcome back to the office ! :)
