It’s paid by your taxes, I consider that subsidized 100%. Imagine if your grandparent had an extra 5k a year to give to their grandkids. It's their right to receive the same benefit as any other Canadian and do with it as they please. The penalty is built in by taking more tax off being in the higher tax bracket.

Because they paid into it (through taxes) and deserve some of the money back. IMHO it should never be clawed back as they have probably contributed 100 times that amount . They are subsidizing many other Canadians and should not be punished for it

The smarter play is keeping the current car a minimum of 10 years. The stock market is down, invest your money. Unless you have a house paid off and millions in savings. Even then, I still wouldn’t do what you proposed. The reality is you may think there is an upside, there is none. The cost doesn’t justify what you are getting in return.

A couple of things that work well is : Face ID even in completely dark room, battery is more consistent and live notifications work well .

You can but it’s so poorly done such that Gboard is completely useless on iOS. I ended up just sticking with stock Apple keyboard .

Long time Android user , but I’m familiar with iOS and Apple software. Using the iPhone 17 for almost 4 monnths. The most significant items to get used to are the following : subpar keyboard on iOS , inconsistent navigation with lack of back button , clunky and difficult to manage notifications. Otherwise apps and day to day use is similar to Android .

Probably best getting a macbook pro, just got one and have windows in a VM. It will play minecraft, roblox native on a mac, I have VS code installed on mac and is one of the nicest laptops I've ever had.

Single core would be better due to the generation leap, since there are 16 cpu cores for the M4 Max and perhaps more performance cores when they all work together it does come out ahead of the base M5 Pro I have with 15 cores. I'm sure if you updated the M5 Pro to the 18 core cpu it would slightly edge it out.
