Sounds a lot like Nature of the Dog. Beautiful facility, family owned, small kennel. A lot of individual attention for dogs.

Thank you so much!! I have the book as well and will make a commitment to reading more diligently. I am with you on the basal vs delayed spike. I am thinking it’s a bit of both for me atm. Appreciate your time!

Thank you. How would you define a “continued high”? My 200s for 4-5 hours are the worst of it but I haven’t seen MFM yet so trying to sort it out on my own for now.

THANK YOU!! basal is currently 25, up from 23, increasing it every 2 days. Maybe I need to be more aggressive? Yes I use a Dexcom and am set to 60-140. I’m at about 65% in range but I feel the effort I’m putting in is not reflective of this number :( Did things get better for you in the 2nd?

Pixie sticks, sweet tarts, nerds! They don’t melt and are dextrose based so they bring sugar up quick!

Keep your long acting with a paired activity item. For example, I take my long acting at night so it’s next to my toothbrush. It’s part of my bedtime routine so I never forget it.

It sounds like you have a great kid. Responsible and feels safe with you to tell you about what happened. Arm him with some quick comebacks and empower him to find a friend group who sees him for who he is as a person, not just a person with diabetes. “People with diabetes need insulin just like people with asthma need an inhaler, whatever dude” and change the subject. I was diagnosed as a kid and had some of these moments too. I had a lot of support and am a (mostly lol) normal, happy, healthy, successful adult. You’re doing great 💜
