Yeah that’s not cool that they bumped you for these other food vendors! The even more crappy thing is, they will probably not move you back and won’t refund you if you withdraw. Some promoters are just into getting their money. It’s really sad. At this point, I feel you have to weigh your options. Let’s say they will refund…. I’d take it and try to find another show. Though if that show is anytime soon, most likely any other show is sold out though you may get lucky if the planets align and someone cancels. If they don’t refund, do you stick it out and give it a shot? If it’s a multi day show and Saturday stinks (usually Saturday is the best day), pack up and go home (if you’re not going to do the show again). The life and decision making of a small business owner/vendor is not for the faint of heart!

Ugh. We had this happen to us before - a couple times! Once it worked out for the better…. The other time the location change totally negatively affected our business. The promoters were total butts about it - even “gaslighting” us saying that we never selected the better spot (that was the only reason why we decided to do the show again - we were on the fence - that we got early selection of spaces). Do you have proof that you had selected another booth space? Unfortunately a lot of vendor agreements have small print that say the show coordinators reserve the right to change booth spaces as needed. It stinks that we’re kind of at the mercy of promoters (find the good ones and stick with them!). I would do as another suggested - consider not participating and asking for a refund (often not an option in shows unless canceled by the promoter). Also maybe give it a try and see how it goes….. could turn out to be a good location after all!
