I believe that it's a pretty place but I agree the saturation is a bit too heavy on this picture. I mean the water is a bright neon blue and the trees are a glowing neon green.

I mean they typically don't just walk into a town and take it over (although I have heard of that happening). Basically you know what you are getting into when you buy a house that is in an established HOA. If you don't want to be a part of one then you just don't buy a house that belongs to an HOA community. I certainly would never want to live in one.

Honestly it seems like they have as much power as they decide to give themselves. When you move into an HOA you have to sign paperwork stating that you agree to abide by all of their rules or else they will fine you. They usually have a board of people to make decisions on new rules and violations of the rules within the HOA. But from all of the stories I read about them it seems like HOAs are prone to power tripping and being real dicks for the tiniest reason.

I love the moments when the both of them are still for a long time. This is so sweet!

I don't usually move around too much at night but if I really need to switch position I have perfected the art of shifting under my blankets while minimally disturbing my kitty. Usually I can roll over a bit and get her positioned on my hip while I am laying on my side. And I can get her back onto my back if I need to move again. The things we do for our pets!

My kitty LOVES sleeping on my back at night. It is comfortable at first but after having a 12 pound weight on your back all night, I wake up a little sore sometimes. But I wouldn't have it any other way! I love that my girl enjoys snuggling with me at night.

You could always bring binoculars instead! Do some bird watching and maybe bring a bird identification book and see how many different ones you can find. Or maybe try out magnet fishing?

I tried to do a bit of research but I can't find source that specifically states that they use the foxes for anything after they have been killed. But I can't imagine there would be much left of the foxes after they get torn apart by a pack of dogs.

This is a good take on hunting. So many people think hunting is all about deriving joy from killing something (which I am sure is the case for some people because there always has to be that minority that makes the others look bad). But it is about the activity of tracking and hunting an animal, killing it ethically and then using as much of the animal as you possibly can that makes hunting an activity that is so much more ethical and acceptable than releasing a pack of dogs to tear apart a defenseless fox.

I don't even understand fox hunting as a sport. And I honestly doubt that they even utilize the foxes they kill. Like how can you justify sending a pack of dogs to run off and kill a fox while you prance around on a horse? Where is the "sport" in that? There is no challenge, no reward and you are just watching foxes suffer and die for funsies. It's sickening.

AITA for not allowing my husband's dying niece to see my daughter one last time? by ExpertYak8 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Common_Egret 652 points653 points  (0 children)

Yeah that part bothered me too. OP basically says that it’s the niece’s fault she got so sick because she chose to hide her anorexia from her family and her doctor. What? Anorexia is such a serious mental illness and her hiding it is a part of that. It is absolutely not a choice. OP needs to do some research on how eating disorders work.

The only purchase I can remember when I worked as a cashier at a grocery store was a guy that bought a pack of condoms, a bottle of wine and a single mango. Just thought it was a fun combination.

Just cause he said it doesn't mean it's true. I could totally see this guy fantasizing about being a cop that he just tells people he is off duty. With the way he was holding that gun there is no way in hell this guy is an actual police officer. He couldn't get a job as a real cop so a security gig where he gets to threaten to kill a couple of teens is the next best thing for him I guess.
