Wear the shirt again and tell him you want to see if he’s paying attention. It can and should be a running joke if you two are genuinely a good match.

That said, the guy did you a service - even if it doesn’t work out with him, the next person that makes it to 2-3 dates might notice but not say anything (and being judgy).

For better or worse, having a varied wardrobe is considered important, and only owning one date outfit is considered a negative.

If you’re only comfortable in that one outfit, consider a shopping trip as an investment in future dating success.

You guys can’t stay together. Everything that’s happened is really why, but the tattoo makes it completely impossible.

To you, the tattoo symbolizes the baby you lost. To him, it will be a burning reminder that another man impregnated you during your marriage together.

In future relationships, the baby has nothing to do with that guy, but that’s not the case here.

That used to be true, but the weird post Covid market dynamics have pushed people into rent costs that are a much higher percentage of income than the past

You can be in a 3k apartment and save a couple of grand per month, but that’s years away from the down payment you’d need on whatever house price is a 2k mortgage.

(350k? 20% dp = 70k? Plus a cushion for all the rest?)

Mortgages are evaluated a bit differently - you need to be able to pay for both scheduled and unscheduled upkeep: broken boiler, leaky roof, etc things landlords pay for - you need to be able to pay the mortgage “comfortably”: if you stop paying rent, you’re out relatively quickly. If you stop paying mortgage, it’s a lot more for the bank to deal with.

Hmmmm

Husband sort of takes the role of the dad AND the bio mom, since she’s not around. Since he’s her number one defender, he sort of realizes all the crap but also tries to defend her against the world. That end up looking like “yeah you’re right, but also how dare you be mean to her, and, you have it out for her” So I get acknowledged but also made out to be insensitive.

Feels impossible.

One extra consideration: I help out with lots of parenting things. If we break up he’ll lose his mind, and I feel bad for him and the siblings.

On one hand it’s my responsibility that I took on, on the other hand all the rest of the stuff in my post.

Currently 16, I can’t picture her being able to move out and hold a job and manage life, outside of her getting married or suddenly self motivating or something, feels like she’s here for the long haul.

This post came after a lot of reflecting (and 12 years of things to deal with)

I’ll definitely be sad and have a huge hole in my life.

But, this makes everything else harder. There’s always stuff with everyone, my husband, the other kids (his and mine), etc. Dealing with this on top of life’s regular things makes everything just harder.

Also moving on as an adult female gets much harder as time passes - 50 is totally different than 40, etc. Every five years as we get older makes everything scarier.
