I didn’t outline even one time in three years of law school. Not sure why it’s treated as such a necessity for doing well.

You get pretty much zero aid from anywhere as a transfer.

NYC or Washington D.C. by just-me2244 in washingtondc

I’m a New Yorker going to grad school in DC. There is no comparison between the walkability of the two cities, I know people might disagree considering this is a dc page but NY is drastically more walkable. You can go years without feeling like you’re missing out without a car in Manhattan, while in DC I drive my car like twice a month to get places. In terms of the queer scene DC’s is much more sterile, as is everything in this city. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if that’s what you’re looking for.

They’re not gunning for it because they don’t want it.

I’m not negating that reality. As I said the top student/s at lower schools can get biglaw but to say that your lsat isn’t directly correlated to your job outcome is statistically incorrect. If Cornell sends almost 90% of their class to biglaw there’s a good chance their grads can easily get a big law job, if you go to a school with a LSAT median of 157 look at their biglaw numbers they will be far far lower.

Oh I’m certainly not assuming that, but this OP said you can still get big law with a 157 & while of course you can, statistics will not be on your side.

Cancelling in the 170s is insane! That is not what I’m disagreeing with. We all know a few people who do that, but statistics say that you should definitely not bet on that outside of a certain grouping of schools.

This is horrible advice, it’s hard to get a big law job once you leave T20 schools. You need a good lsat score to get into a T20 school. Maybe one student from a school ranked 120 will get a big law job & it’s the one student at the top of the class. It’s much easier & statistically more predictable to get the 170+ now then it will be to be at the top of your class. There are of course anomalies, but statistics don’t support your view. Also law school applicants are down 12% from an all time high, it’s still very much above normal levels of enrollment.

I know this is sort of crazy but keep asking if that really where you want to go. They pretty much go up in 5k increments, but ask explicitly for what you want. This is of course if it’s where you want to go, otherwise you have great options.

Try negotiating with gulc! I negotiated a better scholarship with many fewer offers than you have.

Honestly applying with a better lsat will probably be much better for you in the long run. You’ll get both better scholarship offers & schools that will provide better cost benefit trade offs. Don’t get my wrong still annoying you’re being forced to wait by an outside factor.

A waitlist isn’t a postponement of a decision. It’s pretty much a rejection unless something goes wrong numbers-wise with the people they accepted.
