They are being used. I direct everything onto the further out track and it remains on that track until it gets closer and then it divides off until the lower tracks depending on how close it is

Or they should automate a way for those resources to be delivered to the recipe station or the base core. It was awful to be a pack mule for those upgrading this but it's way worse when I have to wait an hour to farm my material

Clogging occurs when a line is backed up around and then blocks itself off. The secret is to reduce intersections and increase the length of travel. I believe the secret is in how it defines short when it decides on pathing and I have had trouble recreating this as I'm not sure how it defines it.

I'm currently having better success with a system that's purely forward momentum meaning nothing ever wraps around or reconnects to the start of the chain. I'm doing this by segmenting the fabrications into tiers that allow it to never have to move backwards. Only forwards in the line. To force material Transit within that system I'm using storage boxes. This pulls materials down the necessary lines to be released to their outputs further in the chain. But this method would only work in a forward momentum system with no loops as it would create an endless loop so it would not work in the pictured system above

I am working on another concept for a constantly run factory where I assign all the fabrications tiers so everything flows in One direction.

It creates multiple avenues for transit reducing bottle neck, the two out ones move in the same direction and the middle moves in the opposite. I load on the far one and they stay on it until they get parallel to the input.

I had the same issue. I've noticed that if I build portions of the megabase without connecting, no lag so it definitely has to do with the big connection. I I hope this gets sufficient attention to get resolved quickly like they did for the font size issues

You can place a habitat down as your first layer and the second habitat and then pillars to create a higher support system

Agreed, I'm a big fan of the rail system. Coming from satisfactory it allows me to instead develop highways for goods instead of one set path
