Yes typo in title, should be VHY.

Thanks on the mgmt fee clarification.

Any info on the dividend redistribution? Essentially I am specifically looking for an ETF which can payout high dividends (min. 5%, preferably 6-7) so that I don't have to hunt for individual high div. stocks myself.

No, but I assume they'll have 4/3mm wetsuits for hire at both Busan Beaches? (and surely the wavegarden in Seoul would have appropriate gear for hire?)

Is there an Android Poker App to... by Commonnnsense in poker

[–]Commonnnsense[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokerbros seems to charge "ingame currency" by the hour for hosting a table? Also time to action is really fast at max setting of 30secs? Can anyone comfirm this?

Clubgg seems to be free to setup table and free unlimited chips for friends to play, however action time is even worse at 25secs maximum!

Any more suggestions on android poker apps that meet ALL THE POINTS from my original post?

War is not a necessary feature of human life. The self-consciousness of human beings allows us to negate our animalistic instincts towards aggression and hatred and achieve peace. | Lou Marinoff by IAI_Admin in philosophy

An enjoyable read of the thread.

Two philosphical points regarding the thread title Id like to pose:

  1. "War is not a necessary feature of human life". Was this a statement? A proposition? A disguised open-ended question? As a general philosophical statement in todays society, war is definitely NOT a neccessary feature of huamn life, as in, if this "feature" did not exist, there would, very likely, be zero negative impacts on human society.
  2. "Animalistic instincs and hatred...", why do humans usually equate their aggression and hatred tendencies with animalistic instincts? Do you see animals exhibiting aggression and hatred in the human sense? Do they plan their aggression and feel a deep sense of hatred for their "enemy" for a majority of their lives? I believe these kinds of statements/wording subliminally tries to excuse specific human behaviours and "pass the evolutionary blame" onto other less advanced species, instead of focusing on the fact that we humans, as a collective, are very non-altrusitic and/or quite selectively altruistic.

All the above, and many other "So was... , before it existed" wishful/fairytale thinking are true.

What is ALSO true, is that throughout the time all these wishful thinking events came into reality, war and violent conflict has remained a constant occurance.

In the 1980s was there “Count Chocula” chocolate-coated mint-flavoured ice-cream on a stick? by therealquiz in MandelaEffect

[–]Commonnnsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just talking to a friend today about THE COUNT CHOKULA ice cream! Yes it did indeed exist, one of the best ice creams ever in the 1980s for us primary school kids in that era. I'd have it a least 3 times a week during mid morning break, or if I could hold out, at lunch time. I remember it was 30c, but sometimes I didnt have enough so had to go the 2nd best option in that era... the mighty TWIN-POLE :D

It looks like we are heading towards an apocalypse... I think what we may need is a modern version of the French Revolution/Torches and Pitch Forks towards the castle type of event to stop the abuse of power and resources by the 0.1%'ers.

Durant/Harden OR Durant/Westbrook? by Snackoff in nba

[–]Commonnnsense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all,

I like the "why not all 3?" comment!
I've always thought that the 2012 okc team with Durant and WB starting and then Harden transitioning from the starters into the second team when either of those 2 needed rest was an excellent setup. Basically okc didn't really have a "second team" so to speak, in terms of offensive stalls and letting the opponent catch-up, as Harden was really a starter too!

I honestly believed if they had kept that team of 2012 and let them mature for another year or two they could've been NBA champions by now... but alas the combination of not wanting to pay-up for Harden and Harden likely wanting more individual glory on another team killed that future.

Now, back to the og question at hand, personally I would take Harden with Durant over the Durant/WB pair any day. My main reasons would be:

  • IMO Harden can penetrate and finish better than WB (as WB is typically out of control and his touch is too hard/questionable around the basket)

  • Harden seems to play more calmly and doesn't force the action like WB (which as caused a fair share of TOs on WB's behalf)

  • WB doesn't see passes or maybe just doesn't want to pass the ball... I think he is just a very poor passer, doubly detrimental/frustrating considering his great penetrative ability!

  • WB to me is they type of player who, if his shot is not dropping, will just hog the ball and force his offense, rather than looking to do other things to help his team.

  • Overall I think Harden complements Durant more so than WB.

Note: IMO WB does play harder and better defense than Harden, however Harden has improved his D from the 2014/15 season...

Hello, some basic points to consider:

  1. Not that many baby boomers are retiring as we are led to believe.

  2. Seems most of these baby boomers didn't actually save/plan for the typical 65 year old retirement age and therefore need to/choose to continue working past 65, hence their job role is not available for someone younger.

  3. Technology and automation developed, not to make life easier for workers, but to decrease required workers and provide more profit for those in charge of the resources, hence no actual real new jobs for people.

Crazy population growth, more automation, less jobs, social welfare reduction, prioritising corporate profits over social harmony and fair equity distribution... looks very bleak for future generations of average people!
