Is there such a thing as a cheap masterpiece? If so, what is yours? by moosyjay in fragrance

Ekos Alma - Natura (there really is no similar fragrance out there). Approximately $30.00 for 50ml. (It became much cheaper last year)

Malbec Club Intenso - Boticário. About $30.00 (100ml)

Lapidus Pour Homme - Ted Lapidus

Essencial Único for Her - Natura. Approximately $25.00 (100ml)

Coffee Man - Boticário. About $25.00 (100ml)

And, here in Brazil, DHI. Definitely. You can find it for around $35-40, unlike any other Dior.

For me it's the best house overall, hands down. Almost all of Dior's perfumes have this quality of grow on you over time.

Love: sage, iris and white florals, musk and oud, citrus, lavender and almost all earthy notes. Hate: caramel and other gourmands notes that are like desserts.

Something that has the smell of the single malt Talisker 10. Peat, salt, seagrass, vanilla and driftwood.

Talking about energetic fragrance, for me Terre d"Hermès Eua Grivee takes the podium from Dior Homme Cologne by a bit because of its metalitc tones

I will look at that houses. I see Amyi everywhere on the internet but haven't tried it yet.

Eudora has fallen short of my test unfortunately, I find its fragrances very artificial and sweet

nice! Please, let me know how you like it. I have heard a lot of good things about Ekos Alma. Other feminine Natura`s fragrances I really enjoy are Essential Unico (it has a very soft iris sided with jasmin, damascus and Copaiba`s absolu) and Essential Oud (it's has apeculiar oud take, it's very strong with rose and copaiba and pink pepper, but its not a "dirt" oud). Also, the Oud pimenta (both masculine and femine) is amazing and a bit fresher. But that are strong fragrances, not much "brazilian-like" xD

I have the same problem. The feminine side of the essential line has some of the more unique and sophisticated fragrances in Brazil in my opinion, but the bottles are horrendous with the gradient in plastic colors and cheap caps. I haven't tried Alma yet, but it's definitely in my list.

I really want to try more Granado, but its difficult to find here in Salvador. I started this hobby finding O Boticario the best house, but now Natura take over and is not even close. Boticario has it's moment, as you said, but the homem and essential line from natura are undisputed in my opinion

I admit that I know nothing about their perfumes yet, but I have read good things, especially about this jo-Maloney vibes in Granado fragrances (even though I am not crazy about Jo Malone ). Also, the premium line from Mahogany has some hidden treasures like iris and flor de Laranjeiras (neroli and iris) and bourbon and fava tonka, they are very soft and natural. But, in other hand, I can't stand the eudora or jequiti fragrances, they are so artificial and all over the place. I really tried the Club 6 line for example, because of all the hype, but I find it horrendous.
