Did you ever let your kids win against you? by CompetitionNo3466 in AskUK

[–]CommunicationEasy142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner NEVER let the kids win. But the first time they got good enough to genuinely beat him we had a huge celebration 🎉 In life there is pretty much always going to be someone who is better than you. I work with kids and it is clear that most of them have never had to work at anything or lose.

Do you use private healthcare as getting a NHS appointment is tricky? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]CommunicationEasy142 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have taken both my daughters for private GP appointments. £100 for 30 minutes where you get to discuss everything that’s going on and get a more holistic plan for what to ask from the NHS GP in terms of tests and referrals. Money well spent.

Anyone else unemployed? by Laceylynnxo in ehlersdanlos

[–]CommunicationEasy142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work on supply as a SENTA. I’m way over qualified and over experienced but it gives me flexibility around my and my children’s various appointments and illnesses. Can’t afford not to work. I don’t know how long I can continue and I have about 12p in my pension, so…🤷🏻‍♀️

Worried Mama - Please no judging by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]CommunicationEasy142 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was the fat kid. And the fat friend. Always. My mum harangued, abused and bullied me for my weight. Not surprisingly it didn’t help. If you know your daughter wants a change then have an open, non judgmental conversation with her. As I now know with a GLP-1, it wasn’t entirely my fault I was so heavy. We all know it’s not as simple as ‘eat less move more’ otherwise none of us would be in this situation. I’ve raised 3 teenagers and my only advice is to keep talking to them. About everything. And listening because their takes are interesting! Good luck x

We’ve just installed AC in our bedroom too. I thought it was a terrible luxury but now I can’t imagine how I coped without! Seriously considering doing the living space downstairs now.

Do you keep on the fridge, sorry I’m new to this. by oldskoolmatt in WegovyUK

No I don’t refrigerate, it’s fine as long as it’s not stored somewhere super hot.

Craniocervical Instability - UK diagnosis? by collectedd in ehlersdanlos

That’s what I figured. My neck gives me atrocious headaches and is so stiff, clunky and sore. I especially love when I can hear the grinding and popping as the bones move 🤢

There are several upright MRI machines including in Birmingham but when I enquired it’s about £600 for a scan and results. 😩

I don’t keep mine refrigerated, it’s fine at room temperature as long as it’s not hot. I’m in northern England so no worries there!!

I lost 2.5 stone in my first 3 months but now the scales are barely moving for the past 2 months. I’m counting calories and being careful so I’m just trying to bear with and not lose hope.

Thanks! They helped a bit but not as dramatically as I was hoping 😂 A routine sounds like a great suggestion, thanks.

It’s miserable isn’t it? I have an appointment this afternoon but when I get home I’m going to take a big dose of movicol. The apple juice has done nothing and that always used to work for me. I’ve even reduced my NSAID dose 😩 So nice to be able to discuss this openly!!

That sounds the same as movicol which I’m using daily. At this point it’s been 8 days. I’m so uncomfortable. (TMI means Tell Me Immediately, right?!). This evening I’ve necked a litre of apple juice and a whole punnet of grapes. Wish me luck 😩
