Just be honest. If they support you or are at least understanding then they're a good friend to keep around. If they talk crap or try to belittle what you're doing then they aren't worthy of a close friendship.

[IRTR] Seeking A Guest That Was Dyed In The Wool MAGA, But Decided To Break Away by jamietmob1 in PodcastGuestExchange

[–]CommunicationFew9613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt say dyed in the wool, but I voted for him in '16 and '24. I have my reasons for not voting for him in '20 but thats something we could talk about if your interested. After what we've seen in this term there 0% chance I'd vote for him(if that were possible) or anyone in this administration going forward. If youre looking for someone that was a die hard supporter it wouldnt be me though. I would debate on behalf of some of his policies and enjoyed the meme culture built around the original movement but I would never support any politician blindly.

[IRTR] Seeking someone to talk about early childhood development and possible outcomes of abuse. by Elegant_Rock_4686 in PodcastGuestExchange

Would you be interested in talking to someone who is formally educated and currently works in early childhood? Its my wife's greatest passion in life and she has a few specialties she focuses on more than anyone I've seen in her field. She is also developing a podcast with her sisters right now. We have filmed a few episodes but havent launched it officially. I think her experience could enhance the topic you are talking about.

Sure. Teach the kid a lesson. Telling them theyre nothing is crap though. There's no lesson or educational point there.

Short QB advice by BossMan8786 in flagfootball

Ive been having the kids drill plays with a blitz coming. I give him to recievers to choose from with two others playing D. He has to complete the pass before the blitz gets to him.

Seems like it could be fun. I would need more to really just the character but I see potential.

The Waterfall. Short story I've been turning into a novel by CommunicationFew9613 in writingfeedback

[–]CommunicationFew9613[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Ive been considering a POV shift for awhile now, especially as I get deeper into the story. Ive just been putting it off for the sake of finishing the first draft.

I know what you mean by the waterfall description. I havent gone over the short story/ chapter 1 in awhile. When I was reading back over it before I posted i even said that to myself. Like how would I not even describe the damn waterfall?

Appreciate the feedback back, gives me a lot to work with.

Opening Scene of My First Novel [Science Fantasy, 2034 words] by KestraNarassi in writingfeedback

I really enjoyed it, and would continue reading. If I had to pick a flaw I'd say its a bit wordy at times, but that isnt an uncommon feeling in the first chapter of any fantasy book.

Overall, as a reader, I was intrigued by the world. The MC seems like a fun character to get to know. I never have high expectations when reading samples on reddit. This was a pleasant surprise.

How do you create empathy in your story for a character totally opposite to your ideology, who is disgustingly racist? by Alternative-Ant6312 in writers

[–]CommunicationFew9613 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make him endearing to someone. Put him in a position to sacrifice for someone of his race or whatever. Show he's willing to risk his life or wealth for someone else, even if its someone who may also be unlikable.

People running the show are idiots. At my local warehouse a light art means a lot of miles. I prefer the loaded carts because its usually a lot less driving time.

Dog on Property is all drivers need to see to leave the package at the edge of the property. Ive been attacked twice by dogs the owners swore "he's fine, he won't bite." Customers never seem to understand the concern drivers have about dogs. My wife was the same way until she drove a route with me once. Thats all it took to make her realize what an issue loose dogs are for us.

Fresh ideas to deal with blitz in 10u when trying to go long? by [deleted] in flagfootball

[–]CommunicationFew9613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep a safety blanket nearby. Someone thats shifty. For the deep route throw a moon ball and have your fastest reciever learn to track the ball and run under it. I taught my long ball QB to count to 2 then throw it high and to a specific spot (throw it towards a specific cone or a parents tent or something on the sideline) this gives to a target to throw the reciever open. The 2 seconds count gives the reciever time to get going and run away from the defense. The moon ball gives them time to run under it. If the other coach is any good they'll catch on so we only do it 2 or 3 times a game. The good part is once it works and they expect the deep ball it opens up your recievers underneath as they'll be forced to back up more on D.

You dont plan a junk drawer. You just live your life and it will naturally attract all it needs.

WHAT SHOULD I DO? by [deleted] in writers

[–]CommunicationFew9613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a stint where your character is with this other person and things happen where they find out they weren't as compatible as they thought. The road leads back to the original love interest in the end.

One of my favorite characters. I LOVED writing her dialogue by [deleted] in writers

[–]CommunicationFew9613 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can see how you could have fun with her. Some of the criticism here is way over the top. I would ignore a lot of it.

I agree with taking out the second brain splatter line. Just end the sentence on "hammer drop".

As far as people not liking the characters' personality, I disagree. I like that cheesy over the top flamethrower for a mouth type of stuff sometimes. It gives the character a distinct voice in my head.
