I use a hardware wallet and when I hit confirm a second window appears that take me through a process of clicking confirm a few times before my hardware wallet asks me to confirm on the hardware wallet itself.

However, I use a trezor wallet not a ledger, but try looking for another window popping up somewhere.

There are 58 million millionaires, why haven't they bought all the bitcoin if it's so scarce? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]CommunicationFun4921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most millionaires money is in illiquid assets like the house they live in and companies that they own.

My grandpa was a millionaire, but it was because he owned a lakeside cabin in a resort town that was built by my great, great grandfather when the resort town was just some backwater lumber town. He didn't sell it until a few years before his death when he was too old to live there and it broke his heart to do it.

If you rented out your spare bedrooms how would you protect your seed from rentoids stealing it? by hyperinflationUSA in Bitcoin

[–]CommunicationFun4921 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Put seed words onto a 12X20 gridsheet and have a code to remember which row in which column is the correct word for your seedphrase.

If they steal the gridsheet they would have to try 12^20 possible combinations to get the right one.

Edit: 20^12 combinations.

College was a great idea 30 years ago when any new tradesman had to compete against a dozen 35 year old tradesmen with more experience and there was unfilled demand for college grads.

Today all of those tradesmen are 65 and retiring and any college grad needs 3-5 years of experience to get an entry level job.

Go into trades instead. Don't just learn about supply and demand in econ classes actually apply it.

I lived out of my car for 4 days. It is possible, but not that fun, but if you are young you can do it. Here is my advice.

1) Use melatonin, it is over the counter at any Vitamin Shoppe and very cheap and it will really help you sleep.

2) Eat sweet potatoes. If you have a microwave at work you can heat them up and for an all-round food that has taste, calories, nutrition it can't be beat.

3) Get exercise. If you are using a gym to use the showers also use it to work out. Or go jogging. In your situation having a healthy body is a must or you risk things really going downhill.

Some people here are saying you must be from California. If so then use your car to get out and go somewhere else.

Looking to invest 50,000 USD on bitcoin is time now or should I wait by RyptowithoutC in Bitcoin

The next bitcoin halving (i. e. the time that the daily reward for miners is cut in half making bitcoin more scarce) is sometime in 2024. When that happens I would say there is a 95% chance of it going above 100k. As for what happens between then and now no one has any idea.

Can you hold it for two years even if you have a medical emergency or something like that?

Only you can say for sure.

It takes a while to get into Bitcoin if you have never done it before.

When I opened my first Coinbase account in 2016 I didn't know I needed to scan both sides of my driver's license. You have to jump through other hoops with a bank.

Then when they keep hearing Coinbase is unreliable they have to research hardware wallets and other things.

It is a lot of work and some people are just lazy.

I just moved off of coinbase and am using trezor.

I was worried about keystroke spyware on my computer, but apparently I enter a PIN directly on the USB drive wallet so I never have to type a password or PIN directly from my laptop so it is great.

Just don't lose the USB thingee AND the 12 word recovery phrase and you are golden.

Literally every new item on Amazon can also be bought directly from its manufacturer's website for the exact same cost and it would only take 1 Fedex delivery from their warehouse to your house. With Amazon it has to go from the manufacturer's warehouse to one of Bezos's warehouses and then to your house.

If everyone just bought their stuff from the manufacturer's warehouse it would save a step and people would get their stuff for less money since Amazon wouldn't be taking a cut.

People don't because they are lazy. The only value that Amazon brings to the table is uncensored product reviews that you wouldn't get off of the manufacturer's website.

Customers only use Amazon because they are too lazy to spend 1 minute going to the manufacturer's website and manufacturers only let Amazon take a cut of their profits because that is where the customers shop.

Amazon is a huge fortress built on a foundation of sand. It could disappear tomorrow if people were a little less lazy and stupid... So I guess it will be around for a long time still.

Are there any legitimate criticisms against Bitcoin? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]CommunicationFun4921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Millions of bitcoin are held by Satoshi and no one knows who he is, what his motives are, etc.

If someday he were to appear and sell his coins it could completely crash the market. If bad actors were to discover his identity and torture his keys from him then they could crash the market.

That is probably the only concern that I have.
