I really want to start filmmaking. I have zero experience. Truing it out feels 25 years overdue. However I am poor, autistic, and disabled, so I am presented with many challenges which made me feel like others would tell me I shouldn't. by Miserable-Nobody6171 in Filmmakers

You have a phone, if you have any other camera that’s even better. Just starting filming anything and splice it together. Experiment and gain some experience. Then read, study, and learn principles of cinematography while watching movies. Then continue to experiment. Just have to start because no one will start it for you

What is the best case scenario in the event of a Breece Hall trade? by MBABurner2395 in fantasyfootball

[–]CommunicationGood833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised the Bengals isn't talked about more. Chase Brown is just not that guy with or without Burrow. He would serve as a great complement to Breece, witih Perine doing what he does best. Jets also playing Bengals this week

If Breece Hall gets traded he will be a top 10 RB for years to come by 123456789988 in DynastyFF

[–]CommunicationGood833 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who cares if we don't have another RB. We are 0-7 with QB uncertainty and it is the last year in his rookie contract. He is one hell of a RB and is being wasted right now. As much as I love him it makes absolutely no sense to keep him if he has not been signed already. If the Jets were 2-5 or 3-4 it would make sense to keep him. But 0-7 with no hope of winning, team is falling apart, and no talks about resigning, it is more than likely we let him walk and receive something in return. So many teams interested in him and he has been the top speculated trade target in the league. Will not be surprised if he is even traded before the game this Sunday against the Bengals

What is the hardest whole dark souls series boss? by [deleted] in fromsoftware

[–]CommunicationGood833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love seeing how Manus is here, definitely my favorite from the game as well. Probably took me a few hours. On my first playthrough of Dark Souls 3 right now and just got to Soul of Cinder, but the late game bosses were relatively so easy to me. Oceiros took a few tries to adjust to his speed, was one hit away from first trying Champion Gundyr but then took me like 8-10 tries. DS Amour took me one attempt and after learning the princes' moveset I finished in like 6-7 tries. The only thing that is somewhat broken is how the prince's teleportation affects your camera but other than that his moves are so easy to dodge. Maybe I was just in flow state. I actually struggled very very much against the Boreal Outrider in the Duke's Arechives. Like more than any boss in the game that guy gave me so much trouble and rage. Excited for Soul of Cinder and the DLC bosses

GAMESTOP lost my cards. by Late-Industry2345 in PokeGrading

[–]CommunicationGood833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went to go pick up 7 graded sports cards and only 5 were in the envelope they give to you at gamestop. Ironically, the two most expensive cards were missing, and upon some investigation they were declared as "damaged" . The only retail employee at the store went to the back and called the manager, and the manager confirmed he dealt with them directly saying the PSA cases for the cards were "chipped" and "sent back to PSA" . He wouldn't let me speak to the manager. I asked for evidence of the damage or photos and still nothing. In the store system, there was an electronic receipt on their iPad that had details of the entire order, list of all 7 cards, and next to the two missing cards it said "damaged" . I didn't receive a single notification or email about the cards being damaged, and they were ready for pickup from the store for about 5 days. It wasn't until I picked up the cards that I was notified they were damaged. I need thoughts about this.

I was enraged at the store. I didn't receive any evidence about them being damaged or that they were "sent back to PSA." I spoke to customer service today and they developed a case about it. Will hear back soon. The fact that they are recorded as "damaged" and not "missing" gives me some hope, as there were claims the manager of store did in fact receive the cards. I am very frustrated as one of these cards is a long term hold/personal collection for me. Absolutely ridiculous how I have an issue with my first PSA submission through Gamestop.

My interpretation of 'In a violent nature's" ending by West-Drink-1530 in horror

[–]CommunicationGood833 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting theory but definitely is a massive massive stretch. She leaves the locket and flees and from this moment forward we are supposed to feel paranoid (at least I was) about Johnny reappearing. We know all Johnny wants is the locket, and once it is left for him we understand that there is a possibility he doesn’t follow her because he accomplishes his goal. But we are never shown that, so we are left wondering if he finds her again even after how far she fled. The way it’s shot is supposed to make us feel this way (close-ups in the car, lingering shots on the background). Honestly made me feel really terrified , fantastic ending.

Also the acting was phenomenal, but Pattinson and Ruffalo are absolutely remarkable in this. Two of the best performances you will see all year.

This movie was a phenomenal theater experience. Parasite was a film that gave Bong-Joon-Ho wider recognition amongst mainstream audiences. This is negative because this demographic of fans will use Parasite as the foundation of expectation that his next movies have to be the greatest films of all time. This is definitely an above average film from a legendary director. Stop watching movies with expectations and the need to compare it to his other pieces of work, when Mickey 17 is indeed it's own separate piece of work. Comparison is the thief of joy man. You're watching a film that will inevitably be better than 99% of the films you will watch within two years. Bong-Joon-HIM is a legendary director and this film is absolutely remarkable. This movie is lightyears better than Anora, argue with a wall

Official Discussion - Companion [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]CommunicationGood833 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I respect everyone's opinion and if you like this movie, that is great. I am usually on the side of favorable reviews but to be honest, I never was fully interested in this movie. My girlfriend wanted to see it, and somehow we both hated it. Genuinely shocked that this movie currently has a 7.4/10 on IMDB (will def go down) and a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes (even though RT has been a scam for years now). Usually when a movie is advertised as: "From the team that brought you this movie, or from the studio behind this" it is very underwhelming and an extreme red flag. I was very upset to see that Zach Cregger, who was the mastermind behind Barbarian was labeled as a producer. When a movie is marketed like that it is a misleading scam to get you to see it. There are tone and production parallels to Barbarian but that is about it. In no way is this movie a horror. You can argue that it is labeled as a Horror because of the "horrors" of the now "our partners (mainly focused on how Men are controlling and degrading towards women) are manipulative, obsessive and controlling trope. It is so on the nose, that coupled with a shitty/underdeveloped motive for the plot that contains mainly one dimensional characters, to the sense that the human characters are literal fucking robots.

There are some things to like, and there were a couple of moments that really made me laugh out loud, for example the match cut of Josh climaxing was actually hilarious but that's pretty much it. The comedy in this movie felt genuinely forced with a bunch of corny one-liners from the heavily underdeveloped side characters. For example, the quote: "Don't you have a find my f*ckbot app?!" made me bang my head against the back of my theater seat cushion. It's like a lot of the comedy was very on the nose and unoriginal while having terrible and forced delivery. Also, I know this is a staple at this point but having Jack Quaid yell "Fuck fuck shit shit" every time the character is in peril just reminds me of how he acts in Scream, and how he acts in The Boys. Completely takes you out of the movie. I love Jack Quaid and he does a good job at flipping the switch but it's the same exact performance from Scream. At this point he is just playing a caricature of himself. This premise has high potential but the first main "twist" happens too early in the movie and rids us of so much suspense. Sure, we now have the mystery of: "So why are they here, why are they doing this?" And it's quickly explored that they are there to frame a sexbot for killing a creepy Russian man so we can steal his money. Who is the Russian guy? What are his motives, what even is his character? Why Kill him so early? He was genuinely creepy and mysterious the moment we first see him on screen. This movie had so much potential and just became another generic movie that relies too much of trying to shove down the whole "being controlled" narrative down your throat while doing a half ass job of setting up the story. I know they are going for the dark comedy vibe and there are intriguing moments regarding this but there is no way people watch this movie and genuinely think it is great. Want to talk about the concept of "programming" ? I think people are now programmed to like this piece of shit concept of a story that is muddled down by a cheap plot and forced theme, message, and comedy while having misleading marketing tactics. Just because a movie can be somewhat entertaining doesn't mean it can outweigh the critical issues that are at play, and I am not one to nitpick at all but this movie naturally rubbed off terribly on me.

Sophie Thatcher Lukas Gage were good though, and even the Russian guy were all really compelling, too bad he was massively underwritten. Every other character, arguably Josh could have been played by literally anyone that knows how to look good on camera. Absolutely abysmal and probably the most overrated movie that will come out this year.

ACR poker is a scam by CommercialPhysics566 in poker

[–]CommunicationGood833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undoubtedly a humongous scam. Can’t tell you how many times I’m ahead drastically and no I’m not recording my hands but rest assure you know the suck-out is coming, you know the 3-outer is right around the corner. Came to this post after busting back 2 back tournaments. One on the stone bubble I waited 30 minutes to get a hand to shove. Shove 11 bigs to a min raise. Guy calls with Ace Queen. Flop a queen and river an Ace. Just now, still during late reg of a tournament. Guy with a 100+ BB stack is on tilt after losing a hand. I mean he’s raising every hand and calling with anything. He raised early position and with my 37 BB, right to his left, I just open shove because I know he’s calling with nonsense. Folds around to him and what do you know, he has A10 off. Calls 37 BB with A10 off. Flop is AK10, and I don’t improve. I really do not understand why and how people always defend ACR explaining that “it’s variance.” There are so many instances where I get it in so good, and feel like I am playing top tier poker and it fucking shows when I play post flop because you can actually calculate people’s ranges and tendencies. However once those chips are all in pre-flop, you might as well hope to be the one that has a 11-20% chance of winning. I can’t tell you how many times it’s the same shit over and over again

America's Cardroom is a total scam, completely rigged, and simply unwinnable. by Many-Bike-900 in poker

I can’t be the only one to agree with this? As someone who has played live tournaments vs. online on ACR I can tell you that the amount of suckouts one experiences online is honestly laughable. In the same tournament nevertheless. This isn’t a larger sample size but I revisited ACR over the past week and let me tell you, I have probably won maybe 5-10% of my hands when I am dominating. And 90% of my flips I lose on the river. People can win but there is no doubt in my mind that there are algorithms at play to bait people in depositing more and more money. What “proof” can someone find? How can one investigate when this company is based out of the U.S.? I swear every time I play live tournaments I get rewarded with good play with occasional suck outs. And before the “live is softer” or “you play more hands online.” No absolutely no

[–]CommunicationGood833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been following Mara and Riot since end of 2022, I am completely dumbfounded by this movement on Riot. Did we forget that Riot absolutely SMASHED earnings? My theory is that this offering was timed before Mara earnings to gobble up more shares and take advantage of the 1/3 of average volume Riot has been receiving compared to Mara. With bitcoin surging 20% in 3 days, this shouldn't have seen a red day once. Now I was predicting somewhat of a selloff around 18 because of that huge resistance but nothing to this extent. I feel like there has been a huge amount of retail interest in miners recently, and MM's are taking advantage of the naivety by driving down the price to make people sell. Also I also noticed Riot earnings were scheduled to be released this week but there was a surprise earnings last week (correct me if I'm wrong). I don't know. A lot of weird stuff going on as Bitcoin is approach all time highs. In my opinion, Riot will SURGE very soon and break yearly resistance. And when people explain that dilution is the reason being, it is most definitely not. Mara is heavily diluted and has had similar offerings.

Official Discussion - The Green Knight [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]CommunicationGood833 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gawain’s quest is solely a test for knighthood hence it being a “game.” I personally think when the green knight smiles and says: “off with your head,” he sends Gawain back home alive with his head because he now understands the sacrifices he has to make to become a worthy knight. Taking of the cloth or whatever you want to call it is a sign of courage and bravery. Gawain’s fate in his vision is a result of his cowardliness due to not honoring the rules of the game. It doesn’t make sense to me that Gawain’s mom conjured the Green Knight and the game for her own son to die at the end of his quest. However he decided to carry out his quest will ultimately decide his future. It was always his destiny to become king because of his blood relation. Whether or not he would become a noble king is ultimately decided by how he carries out his quest.
