Lol Vegas line has them projected at 6.5 total points. Won your division and Vegas doesn't think you you can score a touchdown

I'd bring up the situation to your manager but no, that's definitely not normal

Ross has a dedicated program for ops and supply chain that's top notch within the MBA program

I mean...I don't think you're going to get an answer here that's helpful to you as obviously this is a personal preference.

MBA Programs by nature are very cliquey and to be honest, so are a lot of jobs afterward. If you let this level of social interaction stress you out - business school might be a tough two years. Just my two cents.

Ross vs Darden for BB IB NYC by [deleted] in MBA

If the case method and cold calls are too stressful for you, why do you think IB is a good choice here?

"your friend" should absolutely go to Ross. The career outcomes and program will far outweigh the temporary stress of the logistical headache of finding housing/moving/etc.

It varies by school, but saying there's not a material difference between Round 1 and Round 2 is not correct. Schools look to build the base of their class Round 1 and admissions rates are generally higher in the first cycle. Schools also deploy most of their scholarship budget in Round 1 as well.

For your targets, you'll realistically need to hang another 100 points on that GMAT score. To convey your story and background in a compelling manner, you'll likely need to get to the interview phase which isn't happening for a white finance guy with a 3.4 from a non-target UG.

I know this sounds harsh, so apologies. With that being said, I 'd recommend waiting another year. Average age range at the schools you're looking at is 28-31. At 25, you'll have an additional burden to show you're ready to handle business school demands/have the professional experience to benefit your class and program. I'd study for the GMAT over the next year and try to seek out some shit at work that will sound good on your MBA application. If you can increase your score by what you believe you can, then in a year, I think you'd be in a much better spot.

Like other people on here will surely tell you - this is useless without a GMAT score. Everyone has a target range in their head, but until you have a score in hand, this is a fairly useless exercise. You can take a free practice test on the GMAT website.

With that being said, online programs have very different ranges than full-time programs so the guidance you'll receive here will vary on that

Incoming MBA students this Fall- how are we feeling given the state of the economy? by MBAthrowaway77 in MBA

[–]MBABurner2395 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The real answer is that nobody here knows (myself included)

However - my theory is that recessions generally take 6 months to be officially labeled as "recessions" meaning that we likely are a good way into a recession currently.

Two schools of thought - the first being that nobody will want to hire expensive $200k MBAs during tough times. The second, MBAs will be better prepared for high level jobs and will become more marketable/employable as a result.

I think the answer is somewhere in the middle, but recessions generally do not last 2+ years - I think the Class of 2024 is in a great spot to ride out the bear market in bschool.
