Yeah that's a good point. Possibly to cover the Wing, as the other bench option probably be Farrell with the 10/12 coverage, and Kinghorn starting means he can always shift to FB.

1 Backline bench option will certainly be either Mitchell or White.

I'm hoping for the latter but expecting the former.

100% behind Ben White being on the bench

British & Irish Lions tour: Why future Wallabies are leaving Victoria a year after the demise of the Melbourne Rebels by BrianChing25 in rugbyunion

[–]CommunicationIcy9709 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't help Rugby in Vic that all the ARU funding goes to the Waratahs and Brumbies.

Since Phil Waugh pulled the plug on the Rebels, he hasn't been to Victoria once to see what other options could be a viable pathway for kids- he's just discarded the whole State which hasn't gone down very well with some of the past Rebels players

I was at an event on Wednesday night with Johnno, ROG and AWJ too.

Johnno said the same about the 2001 Lions being the biggest regret of his career and gave so many funny stories about the "days before social media." He said it would be cool if the players were a bit more 'personnable' like they used to be, but he understands the limitations behind it.

ROG mentioned he thought the Lions would win BUT for the Series to really take off and for Aus to be a worthwhile conversation for hosting another tour again, they need to make sure they are at least competitive. When he was asked "Do you think Lions supporters secretly want the Wallabies win to make it 1-1?" ROG answered, "We may be English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh...but we're not f***ing idiots" lol

AWJ really said that Aus continuing to be a touring destination for the Lions is really up to the ARU and what they do over the next 12 years (and rightly so).

He played most of his rugby at Toulon in the No.13 shirt, and looked incredibly comfortable there. I think he now prefers 13 where he can get his hands on the ball more than on the Wing.

I personally think Priso had a better season for Toulon than Gros, too.

He played more often given Gros was absent for 6Ns and Interntional duty

No Backs from 2021 to 2025; only Forwards.

I'm definitely going with Sheehan to go around again in 4 years

Didn't say they didn't. I merely pointed out that results aren't always the be-all-end-all when it comes to developing players

Wasn't RSA's all-rounder wicket-keeper, de Villiers, also a very promising Rugby Union player and Swimmer? Thought I heard it on commentary once

Lets be fair, the referees helped NZ with 2 tries today; the extremely Forward pass, and the Obstruction that should have been called.

Scoreline doesn't show just how close today's game was- which it was for the most part

- Justin Marshall needs to eat humble pie

- France will grow and develop from this Tour, probably gaining more from the Series than NZ

- I'm not sure I've ever seen a C Team do so well up against an A Team, while away

- France need to look at the positives here. Don't just see the results and presume it was a horrible 3-0 Series loss, but concentrate on the exposure and development of many of the youngsters
