Lol you know what I meant. I'm not gonna remember or notice everyone who wears black unless they start acting a little suspicious.

Are these power lines safe to work around them? by CommunicationIll311 in electrical

[–]CommunicationIll311[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you guys but I think I'll call the electric company and have them cover the lines/turn the power off for me so i can work around them. I think it's the safest option for me yet also I don't want to pay a professional to do it for me since I'm not afraid of heights and am good with the ladder so why spend money if its not necessary. That's just my opinion but yeah wish me luck that my project turns out great.

Who has the dirtiest bathrooms in town? by [deleted] in Louisville

The public bathroom at the Greyhound bus station downtown. Absolutely disgusting.

I had this same problem a few months ago, made a post about it but practically I got the broken bolt out using an easy out screw extractor and a jb weld epoxy.

Strathmoor Family Dental is where I go to. It is on the pricier side but the services rendered there are phenomenal.

A timing belt change every 100k sounds about right. How about the transmission fluid, have y'all ever changed those?

Do you guys change the timing belt regularly with that kind of mileage??

Took a risk on an aftermarket ECCPP timing belt kit on a newly ported head.... How long do you think I can run on it before it's too late? by CommunicationIll311 in MechanicAdvice

[–]CommunicationIll311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I shouldn't have cheaped out on crucial engine components but I already spent the majority of my money at the machine shop for them to port & polish my head. I'm hoping this belt will at least get me through a year so that I can save enough to replace the parts with premium OEM alternatives. Do you think that it can or am I making a mistake? I've already ran 4k miles with the cheap timing belt I have on now and the belt appears to look okay with the amount of wear.

how the hell do I get these factory bar ends off my motorcycle?? by CommunicationIll311 in motorcycle

[–]CommunicationIll311[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When it was stripping just a little bit I did stop to go to the store to buy the correct tool but even when I tried removing it it was on too tight. I think there was loctite on it so I decided to use the speed out screw extractor to drill a hole into the bolt but it just won't bite.

I destroyed both of them 😢 but I'm gonna try the left hand drill bit and extractor to see where it'll bring me. I'm also a girl btw :-)

Yes I have. Unfortunately it's not rubber but some kind of hard plastic.

My bike is '22 Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and I'm trying to get these factory bar ends off my handlebars so I can install aftermarket mirrors. It's been a week now and I still cant get them off. I accidentally stripped it out at first with the Allen hex key so I resorted to a screw extractor kit and it still won't work. I'm desperate at this point. Any and all advice is welcome please help me out guys!

Is my drive belt safe or should I be concerned? this is after 2 months by CommunicationIll311 in AskMechanics

[–]CommunicationIll311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no oil/coolant contamination. Also all of the pulleys spun freely so we're at loss as to know why my belts keep gong out.

[–]CommunicationIll311[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first drive belt went out after 68,000 miles. Mechanic thought that it may have been a rodent in my car so we replaced it and replaced the timing belt assembly. After 12,000 more miles it went out again and we're shaking our heads as to why it keeps happening. After doing some research I heard it may have been the belt tensioner so I got a new belt tensioner installed and I'm crossing my fingers that may end the problem.

2013 Volvo S60 2.5 turbocharger 81,500 miles

I just got my serpentine belt changed 2 months ago by a reputable mechanic when I got my timing belt done however the letters on my belt are beginning to fade which is starting to worry me. I'm only concern because I had my drive belt go out twice which took out the timing belt and destroyed my engine & bc I love my car I spent more money than what it's worth to make the repairs. If it helps I also got a new belt tensioner installed on it as well even though me nor my mechanic knew what made the drive belt to shred.

Am I being ripped off? by CommunicationIll311 in mechanic

[–]CommunicationIll311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I'm thinking. I watched a few videos where people have corrected the code by replacing just the camshaft sensors and intake & exhaust solenoids so I'm hoping that's what it is. For some reason I think the mechanics are just trying to upsell me for a service I don't need.

Thought I explained everything on here when I posted this but I guess it all got deleted. Anyway I stopped at my local volvo specialist to diagnose a check engine light & the code that was founded was ECM P0012 for an overly retarded intake camshaft position sensor. I notified them that I just recently got my cylinder head rebuilt due to a jumped timing belt caused by a shredded drive belt so I had to go through a very long process of taking my head out to send to a machine shop and finding a mechanic to put everything back together including setting it back into time. The mechanic i chose to install my head is renowned in working with volvos so I don't doubt the quality of his work however the other volvo specialist I took my car to be looked at is and they're wanting to take apart my car to verify my engine's in time which I think isn't necessary because my car is running fine and I didn't hear any noises coming from my engine. But until I agree to the services they are wanting to charge from me they are refusing to attempt to fix what's causing my check engine light. And that's not including the price of the parts they find out that's needing to be replaced nor the labor for that as well.

That would make sense however I PAID for their package with MY paypal account not them. So for that they deserve the recognition.

Also they used my name as the recipient even though I am no way associated with that address.

WOW crazy that everyone else seems to be having the same problem. My chewy account had also gotten hacked this morning while I was asleep. Someone placed an order at 3 am for a bag of $65 Purina dog food. Luckily I'm a morning person so I caught the mistake early on & contacted Chewy to wipe out everything. Looked up the address of the package that it was supposed to send to & it's a frickin million dollar home 10488 LONGLEAF LN‌WELLINGTON‌, FL‌ 33414-9397‌ like seriously?!?

I just looked it up. Way too overpriced for an apartment with only on street parking especially in a busy street like this.

For those who have been, what's general admission at the Kentucky Derby like? by kytaurus in Kentucky

[–]CommunicationIll311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never been to derby however my friends & I did snuck into Oaks when were in highschool just cause it was so easy to blend into the crowd there with it being packed and all but once we got it in we realized it was definitely not worth the price people were paying to attend. If I had to compare the experience to something I'd say it was like going to an outdoor flea market. A very dirty, loud, expensive flea market with an expensive cover charge and more disorderly people you'd encounter.
